January 26, 2021 The Oyo State chapter of Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) has described the N1 billion security vote given to Governor Seyi Makinde monthly as meaningless. SPN alleged that the rising insecurity in the state in the last few weeks has exposed the inadequacies of the Makinde led administration in the area of security. Our correspondent reports that Oyo State has witnessed a series of unrest, kidnapping, attacks on citizens and killing in major towns and cities in the state due to poor security network in the state. The SPN claimed it was unfortunate that Makinde failed to curb the spate of insecurity in the state especially in Oke Ogun and Ibarapa geo-political zones, despite the huge security votes allocated to him.
