It's not just you: Allergy season is worse this year FacebookTwitterEmail We've all been reduced to sneezing, sniffly messes this month. If you've been suffering through allergy season more than usual, know it's not just you. Allergy season actually is worse this year. The February ice storm that hit Texas is to blame for the extra allergy pain, the Houston Chronicle's Rob Downen reported last month. While we usually see a spike in tree pollen in March, the freeze delayed the spike until April, lining up with grass pollen's annual spike and creating a double whammy of allergy misery. It's not just the Houston area, either. The freeze impacted pollen levels across the state.
