Ils désertent (Editions Fayard), the story revolves around Clémence Alpharo who needs to drive Henri Giffard, a sales rep at the end of his career, towards early retirement in order to secure a permanent contract in the company which has recently hired her. But Giffard won’t budge. His work is the only remaining thing giving meaning to his life. Caught between the idea of a professional future which would help her escape her family background and the unexpected affection she feels for the sales rep, Clémence must make a decision – one which will inevitably push Clémence and Henri to their limits…
