Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in celebrating the Emancipation Proclamation during a Juneteenth event at noon, Friday, June 18th. The festivities will begin near the grill at the Kremer Amphitheater and will last until 5:00 p.m. The office will provide soul food (barbecue ribs, pulled pork sliders, pecan pie and sweet tea) and free T-shirts, bracelets, cupcakes and informational handouts. The College is also proud to welcome internationally recognized guest speaker Michael Crutcher to campus. Crutcher is known as “the Spirit of Frederick Douglas” for his excellence in impersonating the escaped slave that later became a prominent activist, author, and public speaker. Douglas asserted himself as an all-time leader in the abolitionist movement, leading a charge to end slavery.
