On Wednesday, KVUE stopped by Opal Divine’s, a South Austin restaurant and bar that’s been around for 21 years. Opal Divine’s was started by owner Michael Parker and his wife, Susan. The restaurant is named after Susan’s grandmother, Opal Divine. The restaurant was set to have a strong 2020 after Interstate 35 construction had been completed. February 2020 was their biggest February ever, and as they were preparing for St. Patrick’s Day, their biggest day of the year, everything shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
