WNKY 40 News February 19, 2021 During the governor’s daily press briefing Thursday evening, an update to a statewide initiative was provided. Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman spoke more on the Kentucky broadband initiative speed test, which seeks to find areas in the commonwealth with weaker internet connection so that help can be provided. As of the update, over 61,000 Kentuckians have participated. The deadline for the speed test was originally Feb. 18 but has been extended to March 1. April Humphrey has a daughter who attends school in the Barren County District. Her daughter uses virtual instruction, which is why April says she’s thankful for this initiative.
