On several planes, the log jam turning into hours of waiting on the tarmac. Six hours on the plane. Reporter according to the passenger protections, the tarmac delays have a hard time limit of three hours except in specific cases regarding safety, security, and air traffic controlrelated reasons. The management of jfk knew they were becoming overwhelmed, why werent the planes diverted earlier . Its just dangerous to have people waiting so long. Reporter after two hours on the tarmac, airlines have to provide adequate food and water. As well as working lavatories and any medical treatment.
