Go safely, california. A santa rosa man has died after being found unconscious next to his 13monthold child who died at the scene. A Family Member found 29yearold Patrick Oneill and son liam inside the bedroom at a home on darek drive saturday. Efforts to revive the child failed. Oneill was taken to the hospital where he died last night. Investigators will conduct a toxicology test to determine the cause of death. Police say narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia were found next to oneill and the child. Authorities planned to arrest him on murder charges if he survived. In the south bay a Sunnyvale Police officer who shot and killed an Armed Robbery suspect has been cleared of all wrongdoing. The District Attorney says officer benjamin croteel was acting lawfully. He shot transient Joseph Webber in 2015. Police say webber had stolen a pack of cigarettes. He had a knife, and police say he refused to drop it. Sunnyvales d. A. Said he had a right to stand his ground and believed he was in danger as webber approached him. In the east Bay Mental Health professionals are on strike. They say theyre fighting for better patient care but kaiser says its taking steps to improve. Reporter Amy Hollyfield breaks down the demands. Reporter they usually spend their day talkin to patients, providing Mental Health care for kaiser permanente. Today they are offering care in a different way. Going on strike because they are worried their patients are not getting what they need. Im a crisis provider, so that means i saw people from the gilroy shooting. Reporter she has seen some patients wait weeks for an appointment and then only get a 30minutelong phone call. She says kaiser needs to offer more. I know facetoface contact like you and are talking now is essential. Its not something you can cover in a 30minute phone call. Its not ethical. We have concrete plans to address the scheduling and increase hiring of therapists. Reporter kaiser Officials Say their offer addresses the need. We are hiring. Since 2015 weve increased our Mental Health workforce by 30 . And just since july we have opened up and are hiring into 300 new therapist positions. Reporter these employees say they arent seeing improvements. They also want a wage increase because they say therapists cant afford to live here. We have three openings right now and we had three people just give notice. Were chronically understaffed because therapists here get burnt out, theyre exhausted. We have one therapist for every 4,000 members. So the caseloads are enormous. Reporter kaiser says its offering a 3 raise in the first year, 2. 75 in the second year, there are no current plans to return to the bargaining table. These employees say this is a oneday strike. We have clear skies across the entire region. Well widen out the picture and what we are tracking is our next cold front advancing into Northern California. You can see it nicely on satellite and radar, showers beginning to enter Northern California and, again, this is a system not only quick moving but doesnt have a lot of moisture with it. Tomorrow not all of us will find wet weather but where we do it will impact the morning in the north bay. Future weather wednesday at 6 00 in the morning as drive time gets under way. Youll find the light showers first in the north bay and then as we head through the mid morning youll find about 9 00, 10 00 in the morning drizzle likely in the heart of the bay area, theres pops of green on your screen. And that front fizzles out as it moves south. So it looks like the south bay and likely the inland east bay will wind up with a lot of cloud cover and isolated drizzle tomorrow. Take a look at future rainfall potential. Best bet of finding the light showers will be in the north bay and likely where the showers set up probably about a tenth of an inch of rain likely, the highest amount and then as the front moves south it falls apart. Several cities that do not pick up measurable moisture. Nonetheless its another front moving through our region. Tomorrow morning for the morning commute use caution for those scattered light showers especially in the north bay. Thats where well find the wet weather first thing in the morning. It will create slick roadways. Add some extra time to your morning commute and extra distance between the car in front of you on the freeway tomorrow.
