The bill also includes a 367 billion loan program for Small Businesses who did not lay off their workers. That could be a muchneeded lifeline for scott skobales company. We went from projecting a couple million income in the future to zero in under a week. Big businesses would benefit too. 500 billion earmarked for large corporations hard hit, airlines, hotels. Theres more than 100 billion for hospitals and health care systems. All of this as the president pushes for the easing of social distancing practices that could allow some businesses to reopen by easter. What a great time line this would be. Easter is our time line. And the bill includes expanded for freelance and gig workers. And there could be another stimulus bill to address future economic impact. A grim new milestone tonight, the coronavirus death toll in the United States has now surpassed 1,000. Empty streets likely as seen well have to get used to after bold words from the governor. Santa clara county also reports another deadly infection with 17 deaths. There are now a total of 1,208 cases in the bay area. There are two confirmed cases in mend see know county. The most recent case is related to highrisk travel and the person is isolated at home. Lake county isnt reporting any cases. Here is a stunning figure. Nearly half of the figures at the san jose Kaiser Hospital have tested positive for covid19 or suspected of being infected with it. Sky 7 was over that hospital today. Kaisers Vice President who is also an Infectious Disease expert says the hospital has increased staffing and revamped the 242bed hospital. We have to repurpose another unit to take care of regular icu patients as well. In a statement tonight, kaiser Vice President irene chavez says the number of covid19 patients is currently lower. Chavez says given that it is located in a covid19 hot spot and that we count so many south bay residents as our members, it should not be surprising that we would care for a significant number of our patients in our san jose hospital. San franciscos hospital is under a lockdown tonight after three employees tested positive for coronavirus. It is a cityrun nursing home now. Most of the 750 residents are over 65 with Serious Health conditions. Seton Medical Center is now accepting covid19 patients. Governor newsom announced the state would be leasing more than 200 hospital beds at the facility. California has 90,000 hospital beds. Governor newsom says he expects the state will need 50,000 more. New pressure for students, parents, and teachers. School districts in six counties announced they will remain closed until may 4th. Abc news reports with now this is going to affect families. Lauren. Dan, theres a lot of stress. Students are worried theyre going to miss out on graduations. Parents are now having to work and teach. Tonight i spoke with an online teaching expert that says you need to get organized and dont be too hard on yourself. No one to help me at home or my moms working. Its not the same before. This eighth grader is trying to adjust to Online Learning while helping her two younger siblings with their homework. Its stressful because ive been helping around, helping with work. With School Closed until may 4th, theres a big chance her eighth grade graduation wont happen. Im really upset because i wanted to graduate. I wanted to go to school. I want to keep learning. Her mom is also feeling pressure having all three children home. She doesnt really know what to do and she just coming home from work stressed, helps my brother with homework, help me, help me sister. Karen gardner recommends both parents and students create a space for each person. If you can set up a workstation for each person and have it be as far apart as possible, use head phonos and getting organized goes a long way. There was an incident where a calculator went missing and it was under a pile of things. I said we need to remove these piles. Gardner says given the opportunity, students will catch up. Its parents that will take more time to adjust. We have demands at work, things at home. So i think, again, dont be too hard on yourself if it takes a bit of time to adjust. And i was like okay [ bleep ], so i did say that. He returned minutes later with a group of people. Thats when he grabbed his beanie of his head, start to spit on me, coughed on me multiple times. I had my phone. This happened for a good minute and i only caught about six seconds of it on camera. I would applaud her. Other neighbors agree that crowds on Communications Hill can be an issue. A lot of people dont take this serious and to me its a thats how its spread. The neighbor who only wants to be identified as mike says he can recall a few times he should have spoken up for his own safety. Well tonight were learning a gate agent at the airport tested positive for coronavirus. He last worked march 22nd in terminal 2. All the areas he worked are being disinfected. Mark adds he is urging other companies to do the same. The San Jose Police department is pitching in to help. They discovered a surplus of masks during inventory check. Everyone together during this song and during these challenging times. It just feels good to get out. Music kind of takes you away from all of the anxiety. You heard the opera singer singing from that balcony in the story. The man with the giant sweatshirt also sings over at the opera. Not often that you have that kind of talent at that kind of story. She specializes in fine art family and newborn photos but the coronavirus has inspired her to switch up her style. In order to shoot at a safe social distance, she started photographing families through their windows. Closer to the okay. Nice. Nice. Project a week ago and has scheduled the events all for free. I hope it reminds you of the times that it was bad but more about the times that you were never closer with your family at home. Weve never been closer than right now. Its very tough and challenging, but still very close. Some of the photos extend beyond the window pane. She photographed a family outside the front door. Im so excited about the project and this picture is so i know it will be part of something big.
