Reporter we spoke with so many families today who dont know if their homes are still there, if their family heirlooms are there or if they will have a commune to come home to. Those stories are a reality for many families forced from their homes. We spoke the many of them east of where we are right now where many of the hot spots are still burning. Want to point out. Notice the haze stretching into the santa cruz mountains. It is significantly better than what it was in this area 48 hours. Earlier today we drove through bonny doon into davenport where we saw the steep rugged terrain fire crews are dealing with. Shot spots lining swanton creek road where most of this neighborhood was destroyed. All thats viz sbl burnt down homes next to downed power lines. This family barely made it out in time. We were on adrenaline, sort of like in survival mode. It is really sinking in now. All our neighbors lost their homes. I am in a book club and three people have lost their homes.
