In San Francisco abc 7 news was told the unions Bargaining Team is preparing right now for three meetings next week with the school district. The Oakland Education Association on the other hand informed us that they have not not negotiated with the school district, and no talks around schools reopening are scheduled. If people continuing doing the same covid measures, the same measures of washing and masking, for covid, we should have a lower than normal flu season. People who are working hard to build a better bay area. Youre going to hear from tyson amir and mike davis for the black literacy collective. Its specifically involving socially and culturally relevant content to black life in classrooms. The situation is systemic. Through the colonies and constitution, they engineered and invented multiple ways to keep us forcibly enslaved. You already know if you were here last week, i write heavy bars. So we want to break it down. I said, it will be so dope for us to put together a team like a super team of black authors. And start bringing them to the community, bringing them to schools, and one of the first authors i met, i was like, yeah, i need to partner with this brother, is a brother we have on the screen right here, michael davis. At that time i had just been released from prison, i hadnt even been out 30 days. I was i wanted to gravitate toward positive change. We started vibing, connecting real tough, in terms of what we saw, in terms of bringing a collection of powerful writers, published authors together like something that had never been done before. I dont think a dozen writers all published, different genres, Award Winning authors, emotional intelligence, just different variations that individuals cover. As a collective of writers, we could help bridge that gap or interrupt and bring in that revolutionary educational experience that so many people are hungry for. I use poetry to explore childhood trauma, thats something that negatively impacted me so much of my life. I wanted to be able to share that with young people so they can learn to articulate their emotion. Identify certain triggers or traumas that impact them. And provide them a platform to express themselves. Often times theyre shut down, they dont feel like they have a voice. We try to provide that in the class room setting or a space where they feel safe to be able to express themselves and to be creative with that expression. Lets talk about it. We went from regular programming, to were designing curriculum, were helping the department, social securitys department, English Department redesign their offering for their students and were training teachers. We now have district wide relationships with school districts. Its what its about. If you want this, bring the black boy programming. Power to the people. Yeah, but for a while, it was smokey, and then that got replaced by some fog. Yeah, the fog came in, but it didnt mix with the smokey, it helped push the smoke out again today, we have blue skies and very good air quality over most of the bay area. You can see those green dots indicating good air quality from the north bay to the central bay, over to the east bay and down to the south bay, its all looking pretty good right now. As a matter of fact, its being assisted by a brisk breeze. A vigorous onshore flow. We have winds at the surface, 15 to 22 miles an hour, helping to push that smokey air away from the bay area. Not only do we have good air quality today, we expect generally good air quality tomorrow. In fact, perhaps even better than today across the region. Over the weekend, we may see things back in the moderate zone. Right now, a live view, showing a bit of the fog beginning to push out of San Francisco, where its 65 degrees right now. Mid70s at oakland. Gilroy 89 and 64 at half moon bay. Heres a view looking westward from emeriville, you can see the fog approaching San Francisco. Other temperatures right now, 84 that is in santa rosa, 82 movado. 89 at fairfield. Livermore 84 degrees. Our forecast features, well see areas of fog and drizzle overnight. It will be cooler and breezier tomorrow with cleaner air again. Smokier and warmer conditions will develop this weekend. Now, for tonight as the fog and the drizzle move up to the coast and across the bay, look for low temperatures in the low 60s, it will be mild tonight. A bit cooler where lows will drop into the mid50s. Tomorrow, look for highs under improving conditions, in the mid60s at the coast. Mainly low to mid70s at the bayshore line. Only upper 70s, about 80, 82 degrees. It will be even cooler tomorrow than it was today. Heres the smoeft forecast, things are looking good with the greens and yellow colors on the map right now, as of saturday morning well start to see those push el colors moving now. Thats the flow of the winds bringing smoke back into the bay area, it will be widespread, the smoke will on sunday. We expect some kind of a decline. Maybe not a sharp one. The accuweather 7day forecast will work its way out. Sunday, monday, the last day of summer, it will get appropriately a little cooler, first day of fall on tuesday, fall begins at 6 31 a. M.
