A lot fewer of those purple triangles this morning compared to last morning. About 10,000 customers. Electricity has been restored to 335 toush 335,000 customers. We are still at risk of fires even if the red flag warning is over. A small wildfire broke out before 8 00 last night. This is in napa and sonoma counties. Crews were able to get that under control. In orange county, its quite a different story. The race to contain two fastmoving wildfires being pushed by the santa ana winds, nearly 70,000 people are under a mandatory evacuation this morning. Jobina is following the firefighters progress this morning. New questions about how at least one of these fires started. Yes. Good morning. The firefighters there say they could see a break later today when the winds start to die down. The fires started on monday. So far the silverado fire in the hills above irvine burne acres. The blue ridge fire is about 15 miles away. It burned 15,000 acres with no containment. All of a sudden i could smell smoke. Im like, gosh, this is so strong. Where is this coming from . I look out, the valley was nothing but pure black. We lost a son 20 years ago, so this is not that suck you in the gut where you cant breathe feeling. You know whats important is here. Ten homes have burned in the blue ridge fire. This morning new questions about what sparked the silverado fire. Southern california edison is investigating if power lines are to blame for all of this. The utility is defending the decision to turn off power for just 30 customers monday morning. All right. Thank you. This morning dozens of employees and patients at a Ucsf Medical Center are under quarantine after several patients and Health Care Workers tested positive for coronavirus. Julian glover is live with more on this. Good morning. Good morning. The San Francisco chronicle reporting at least five people, talking about two patients, three Health Care Workers at Ucsf Helen Diller Medical Center tested positive for covid in the last week leaving 40 other people connected to the hospital either quarantining or isolating out of caution. Abc7 news reached out to ucsf this morning. We have not confirmed the details in the chronicle article which said that two patients who shared a room tested negative for the virus when they arrived at the hospital. When one of the patients was set to be discharged, they then tested positive. That triggered Contact Tracing which turned up the second patient sharing the room with the first identified case then testing positive as well along with three workers who cared for those two patients. As a result, 28 additional employees were quarantined and 15 additional patients were placed in precautionary isolation. So far all of the additional employees and patients have tested negative for the virus. All five of the positive cases were identified in a threeday span in one unit of the hospital. In the north bay, Sonoma County Health Officials say a dozen workers at Healdsburg District Hospital tested positive for covid19 in the past ten days. They say Contact Tracing shows that the 12 workers were exposed to the virus outside of the hospital and no patients have been infected. Were expecting to get an update from the Santa Clara County Health Department today. They will hold a briefing about covid19 at 10 00 this morning. You can stream it live at abc7news. Com and on our abc7 news app. Multiple bay area counties are now in the orange tier. So this means that contra costa, san mateo and marin counties are allowed to expand their reopenings. That includes nonessential offices, outdoor stadiums at 20 capacity and indoor gyms. Theme parks, indoor bowling and card rooms at 25 capacity. Washington, oregon and nevada are joining california in planning how vaccines will be prioritized. Experts will help independently review and determine guidelines for allocating supplies. Governor newsom does stress that this will not cause any delays. In the north bay a Daring Rescue caught on camera. A man pulled to safety after falling off a cliff and into the ocean near ft. Ross. The Sonoma County Sheriffs Office says the man got caught on fishing line and was stuck in the water for 30 minutes. A helicopter flew in with a rescue paramedic attached by a cable. The paramedic was flown into the water and was able to cut the man free and get him back to shore and despite going through all of that, he is expected to be okay. Happening today in San Francisco, the legion of honor will reopen for members only. Its been closed since midmarch because of the pandemic. Members will be able to get their first look at alexander singhs a gothic tale which will run through november 6th. The museum opens to everyone on friday.
