Police say homicide detectives are investigate, waiting along with the department of family and childrens services, the Santa Clara County District Attorneys Office confirmed with abc7 that they are reviewing the case to see if charges will be filed. According to the department of social services, the Home Daycare Center was licensed in january of 2021 to 2 women. The pool was noted as an off limits area in their license. I feel for those parents so deeply because i know firsthand what it feels like to lose a child to this, though, details are still not clear as to how the kids at the daycare got into the pool. Andrews says its critical that children learn survival skills in the water and pools are secure. Theres a total difference between a fence around a pool and a pool fence. This is actually designed to keep children out it so cannot be climbed. But beyond just the fence, andrews says that homes need layers of protection. We open this door right now. Now, this incident was so serious, emergency crews had to use the jaws of life to save the person who was trapped under a driverless car that would not move. Rescue crews work to secure the vehicle in place and extricate the victim quickly within three minutes, crews had to use the jaws of life to free a pedestrian trapped underneath the cruz vehicle. On monday night. Its a first for police and Fire Departments involving a driverless car. The victim was found to be under the left rear wheel of the vehicle, according to police, a black sedan struck a woman crossing the street at fifth and market on monday night. Immediately after that collision, an empty cruz car in the lane beside the sedan hit the same person this morning. Cruz allowed abc seven news staff to review the video, but not record it nor share it. Reporter Gloria Rodriguez describes what she saw in the dash cam. The black sedan hits the pedestrian very hard. It was just very graphic. The pedestrian then goes flying into the other lane, and thats when the av then hits a pedestrian. The video stops soon after that. So we cant tell how long the pedestrian is there on the ground with the av over on top of the pedestrian, we reached out to cruz asking for further clarify location. Today, cruz says its working with police in their investigation. In a statement, it also said, quote, the av then braked aggressively to minimize the impact and at the request of the police, the av was kept in place. Well, the dmv is the agency in california that regulates the testing and permits for avs. Now, all av companies are required to report crashes to the dmv for investigation. If the dmv finds that the av was at fault, they could modify or revoke a companys permit. But again, that does not sound like the situation for cruz in this incident. Back to you.
