Abc7 News Reporter lena howland saw it. And joining us live now from San Francisco with the investigation and the reward that is now being offered. Lena well, on the heels of mail carriers crying out for more safety on the job in a rally just last week, another worker was attacked on the job this week. The Us Postal Inspection Service shared with us overnight from an attack in the Mission District on tuesday afternoon. You cant see the attack, but you can hear the mail carrier scream and then a car speeds away. Were told the worker was not seriously hurt. They believe the gray colored car caught speeding away from the scene had the suspects inside. But at a rally last week , edward fletcher, head of the Regional National association of letter carriers, told us this is nothing new, as several of the people in his union have reported, being assaulted, robbed and threatened while on the job. We have lost some employees. They have resigned after being robbed. Some of them are still out and have not come back because of the post Traumatic Stress of being robbed. Postal inspectors are also asking for help after another mail carrier was attacked and this time robbed of their mail keys yesterday afternoon. They shared these photos with us, which they believe this was the car used by the suspects in the robbery. Now, the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in for suspects in both of these cases has been set at 150,000 for folks living in the Mission District. One of the suspects recently arrested in connection with the shootout along San Franciscos embarcadero is due in court today. Bystanders hid behind cars. They ran for cover as people inside two moving vehicles shot at each other. On fathers day. A dash cam captured the moment a white car hit a ten year old. And a black suv hit a 16 year old. Both survived. And that night, San FranciscoPolice Detained two people from the black suv and now theyve detained three suspects from the white vehicle. Richard tuiasosopo, Xavier Pittman and a male juvenile arrest warrants were issued for all three of these individuals. Richard tuiasosopo was already in custody at the time of this arrest. Both Xavier Pittman and the juvenile were arrested. It turns out pittman won 190,000 in a settlement with the city after he was shot and injured by an undercover officer in 2021. He is said to be arraigned today. Prosecutors said they will ask they will ask that he be detained without bail pending his trial.
