Firefighters will have a big battle on their hands, warmer as the day progresses. Right now firefighters are busy trying to get some sort of containment around this fire. These are Million Dollar homes here near the golf course. Since the fire broke out at night cal fire has not been able to help. The steep terrain is not helping at all. The fire is burning. And crews are trying to put a line around the fire and putting it out as they go. Reporter that is a tough job. More than 100 firefighters from 12 to 13 jurisdictions. Intense heat drew many more people to area beaches and that meant more rescues including San Franciscos ocean beach where the park service says there were more than 20 rescues that included a father and son body boarding and didnt realize they were getting farther and farther away from the shore. I was surprised i drifted that far. I started worrying. Were so far and way and then we were worrying and trying to get out but we couldnt. The lifeguard helped us out. New this morning a leading group of pediatricians released its flu vaccine recommendation for kids. This years doctors say everyone over 6 months should be vaccinated. The American Academy of pediatrics is saying they should offer it as soon as its available to them. Last years was only about 50 effective but experts say its still the best option to protect against the flu. Influenza can a healthy person and make them so sick that to go to the emergency room and be admitted and it can happen fast within 24 hours. Children are the great distributors of the influenza virus. They give it to each other and then they bring it home and give it to grandparents and uncles and aunts and moms and dads. Officials tell me this is connected to the hot weather were seeing. There are multiple fires so they join them together. Turning the smoke and bringing it down from Northern California. Reporter more to the inland parts of the bay area. Now that smoke may irritate the eye eyes is providing as far as dealing with it. You want to limit outdoor activities. Avoid unnecessary exposure. Describe to us those images. Reporter good morning. The water didnt even like water. It was really murky. It smelled like fuel, like gasoline in some areas because it was a remote part of texas. It smelled like septic water. It was really something to behold to the point some firefighters went in to see if they could rescue anybody. They came back and had to be decontaminated because they didnt know what was in the water, some treated as a toxic chemical. Thats one of the problems they had there. Also just getting around getting to houston was difficult. Roads were blocked. Roads were flooded and we had to drive through some of the flooded roads if we were going to get anywhere. It was really hard to maneuver. The gasoline is a huge issue. Our way out of houston we were two hours out of there in between dallas and houston and we were limited to only 25 gasoline purchase because its in such demand right now. Its going to be a long time before things get back to normal there. Its going to be difficult to say what normal will be. With thousands of people displaced, a lot of them are not going to be able to go back. What will become of houston is a wait and see game right now.
