Tense moments for passengers and crew aboard two planes both headed overseas from new yorks jfk airport monday night. After the wings of the wide body jet liners got too close on a taxi way briefly clipping each other. The faa says egypt air flight 986 headed to cairo hit the left wing of a Virgin Atlantic 4 heading to london sheering off the tip of the wings. The audio recording revealed how it happened. The Virgin Atlantic pilot told the tower he had a problem and needed to solve that before he could take off. He pulled the massive boeing 777 to the side but apparently not far enough.
