New this morning, firefighters are still on the scene of a fire that killed one person in the south bay. It happened just before 2 00 this morning at a fourunit town home on clyde avenue near montague expressway in santa clara. Fire officials tell us one man who was pulled from the fire died on the way to the hospital. The fire spread quickly from one of the homes to another home through the attic. Crews, however, were able to contain the fire to two of the four units, but those two units were completely destroyed. About 2 00 to 4 00 in the morning is when most of our fire that caused injuries occurred, you know, the people are at home and sleeping and sometimes fire gets a head start. Fire crews are still cleaning up the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Knew to a story you will only see on nbc bay area. Raw uncovered meat being delivered in a shopping cart to another local Grocery Store, its the second incident we have uncovered over the past three days proving this might be a more widespread practice. These photos are unsettling. On friday we were first to report this. A san jose mother loretta seto took these photos of two men dumping slabs of raw pork into carts and hauling the meet into 99 ranch market. Now similar allegations at mother store. This is a different image we received yesterday from viewer Christine Cabral. Whole butchered hogs rolled in shopping carts into the back door of marina grocery in south san jose. Cabral actually witnessed this two years ago and says she tried to draw attention to the issue back then, without any success, but after seeing our story on friday she reposted the photo to social media. Cabral tells us she hasnt been able to return to that marina Grocery Store since seeing that unsanitary delivery. Can you imagine our kids touching that. Yesterday we went to marina grocery, but management would not comment. We also spoke with a man who works in the meat cutting and packing industry, he told us he has seen raw meat delivered to stores in shopping carts several times over the past years but asked that we conceal his identity. Anybody that works or is in that industry should know that thats a red flag. The process to be really clean, theyre not doing it right. These practices are not in line with the usd as recommended guidelines for food handling safety. And we also have new information on that first incident that happened at the 99 ranch market in san jose. Nbc bay area of course was the first to report that story. The meet vendor jims farm meat out of winton, california, says the two workers in that picture have been fired. 99 ranch market told us that they only just learned about the incident after loretta seto posted these photos to facebook on friday. They say they have since removed all of that meat from their store. We posted our report to our nbc bay area Facebook Page and its drawing a lot of comments. In other news, a day of protests in San Francisco, tens of thousands of people gathered in Civic Center Plaza for the walk for life west coast. The crowd marched down Market Street to the embarcadero, it was a rally steeped in optimism. President trump addressed the walk for life in washington by satellite. Organizers say they are hopeful that rowe versus wade can be overturned under President Trumps watch. A group of pro choice demonstrators were there as well. We certainly have very pleased with the justices and the laws and what hes trying to do in the pro life movement. So were sitting back, hopeful, crossing our fingers, praying for him. On the west coast they are on the rise. A new report out this weekend says most of the bites happened here in california. The Shark ResearchCommittee Says there were a total of nine unprovoked attacks last year, all were in the golden state except for one in washington. A kayaker in monterey bay was knocked into the water by a shark attack, another kayaker in vuz lost a chunk of his boat when a shark bit through it.
