When you have the rain, the snow, and the wind perhaps gusting to 20 to 40 miles per hour, thats going to cause delays as tom said in boston, hartford, new york, philadelphia, were also looking for some of those delays farther west where it has been snowing for some time. Lets take a look at this area of low pressure, again, as this moves up to the northeast, were going to see a transition from rain over to snows in areas like philadelphia, new york, up across boston. That will last through the night and into early tuesday and then it will continue through the day, across central and northern new england. We could see an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow that would be widespread across the northeast, then you get into the Higher Elevations. Thats where we could see 6 or more inches of snow. Lesser amounts as you get to the coast because were starting with rain and will transition to snow keep in mind, this is the first real snowstorm of the season so the roads are going to be very slippery and it takes a little to get used to driving in those conditions as el.
