Ill have another update shortly. New for you this morning, firefighters are still at the scene of this north bay house fire that killed an elderly woman who lived there. Today in the bays thom jensen is live in novato. This is the home that it really is still smoldering. Reporter you can see where the smoke is come out. Its more than smoldering. There was an active fire burning inside the attic. A lot of material stored throughout the house according to fire officials. Someone just passing by reported the fire at about 10 30 last night. When novato firefighters arrived on the scene the home was engulfed in flames and smoke. They werent sure if the elderly woman who lived alone was home but the neighbors confirmed she had returned home from shopping earlier in the night and blinded by smoke and stacks of burning materials inside their chief says firefighters were forced to use their hands and tools to feel their way around inside the interior of the home looking for the woman. The house was full of materials, extra storage made it difficult for crews to get in. Crews did make entry. They found a woman in her 80s in the home down. Crews rescued her. Brought her outside and attempted lifesaving cpr. And the woman passed away as a result of her injuries from the fire. Reporter the chief has not released the name of the woman. He said, stopped short of calling this a hoarder house, but the amount of stored items was more than you would typically find inside a home. The burned debris adds another layer to investigators this morning, and they will not be able to get inside and start searching for the cause until later on this morning. For now, though, firefighters just remaining vigilant making sure this doesnt flare up again or if it does they can put it out and protecting the scene here for those investigators when they arrive later this morning. That favor is at the heart of the impeachment inquiry where three law professors invited by democrats agreed he broke the law. President trump has committed impeachable high crimes and misdemeanors by corruptly abusing the office of the presidency. The president of the United States obstructed justice and thats an impeachable offense. He struck at the very heart of what makes this a republic to qui we pledge allegiance. A sailor shot and killed two Shipyard Workers and injured a third worker then turned the gun on himself. Witnesses say it all unfolded in a matter of seconds. A Navy Spokesman said the shooter had been assigned to the u. S. Submarine which is being prepared in dry dock. It is not clear yet if he knew those victims or if they were randomly targeted. Sonoma county wants to give victims of last months kincade fire a break. Property taxes are due december 10th, but anyone who sustained more than 10,000 in damages can actually defer the payment. To do so they have to file an application with the assessors office. Assessors will revalue the property to determine a prorated tax. Its been drifting around in spots where we see near zero visibility and then it kind of clears up. Thats what we saw in san martine. A few minutes ago it said zero and now three. Its improving for now. Just watch out. Were going to have patches of that throughout the morning. As we lock outside in palo alto and get started with the day, its going to be cool and foggy with temperatures in the upper 40s. And then as we go into later on in the morning were starting to see the sun peeking out just a little bit this is our break from the rain as we track our next storm system moving in. So were going to start to see that rain moving in by tomorrow morning especially further to the north. This storm system as it moves in will bring some high wind and rain. Were talking winds at about 30 to 40 miles an hour, and then it starts to move out by late on sunday. Looks like we could catch a break. It seems like it weakens and drdry dries up before arriving on wednesday. Look at how much rain were going to get with that storm system. It could be anywhere from about an inch in some of our rain shadow valleys to over 3 inches of rain in parts of the north bay as well as the santa cruz mountains. So a big soaker along with some heavy rain. That could bring down some trees. So thats something were concerned about. Then on saturday, i put stormy on there. A chance that a few of those cells producing some heavy rain could also produce some lightning. But it does start to taper off on sunday. A stretch of sunshine as we go into early next week. It will be chilly so jackets and sweaters needed. Has it caused any issues yet, vianey . I saw a couple areas of slowing that is good. People are taking the necessary precautions. In the south bay, san jose, i do have a new crash to get to. Chp is reporting it as a possible solo spinout. The righthand shoulder is blocked. It looks like that car is now off into the mud.
