It improves in santa rosa but as you drive you kind of hit like a blanket of fog and then you drive out of it. So its going to be very patchy as you head to work. Right now oakland seeing the worst visibility at about threequarters of a mile and be mindful that all of these sensors are out at airports, so of course in between those areas we are seeing some dense fog. And now the rain continues to move through parts of the north bay, with santa rosa on northward to ukiah, seeing some heavy rain moving through there. A closer look at storm ranger, our mobile Doppler Radar shows rain hitting windsor, cloverdale and ukiah on highway 101. Parts of napa county we see some heavy rain around st. Helena and over towards Solano County as well. Were going to see the rain off and on throughout the morning into the afternoon, but the bulk of some of the more measurable rain gets here this afternoon. Here we are at 7 00, were seeing some rain right over the trivalley and then continuing to roll through in waves going into tonight as well as early tomorrow. Were not expecting anything really heavy here. Up to about a quarter of an inch of rain in much of the north bay, maybe closer to a half inch in ukiah. For the sierra, if youre going there this weekend, heads up, well see some off and on snow showers and allow a lot of time to get there, bring those tire chains and were going to see more snow coming down this weekend, possibly another foo the to foot and a half of snow in some of our resorts and here were going to see the storm tapering off. Its been a fairly weak storm. Weve seen beneficial rain but nothing too heavy and going into early next week, were going to dry out for a little while longer before the rain returns by midweek. Headed over to mike, youve been tracking the patchy, dense fog. I wanted to show the san rafael camera, but its clear, theres no f moves around and thats what happened, it was in the north bay a while. There are pamtches in the north bay with tough visibility. Its tougher to see near the toll plaza we cant see the east shore freeway from our toll plaza camera and cant see the coliseum from our rooftop camera off the nimitz. You see the orange highlighting for oakland up to the bay bridge across the bay toward San Francisco and across the Golden Gate Bridge, in the north bay, patchy, dense fog through vallejo. That will be an issue for American Canyon and coming down into novato from areas north like petaluma. The trivalley looks great. Our dublin camera is not having a problem but out of the altamont into the south bay youll have patchy fog and low clouds. Keep that in mind, watching the south county and santa cruz summit, no problems reported so far. The visibility is a factor and we still have a crash over in this area 880 through fremont, the low clouds, the warren offramp may be affected one lane blocked by a crash and anything in the roadway unexpected tougher to see so slow it down.
