Even though some of the rules here are being loosened a bit, the stayathome orders are still in full effect. Downtown napa remains a ghost town tonight. But in other parts of the city there are signs of life in the middle of this coronavirus crisis. This is my onebedroom, onebathroom. Reporter realtor Eileen Ramirez hasnt been showing property like this since the stayathome order was put in place. Giving them a half hour window, one person, so they can come and view the unit. Reporter under the new guidelines she can now physically show a home with two people following at a distance. Napa county has become the first in the bay area to loosen some of the rules when it comes to sheltering at home. Some of the Outdoor Activities such as allowing golf with physical distancing protocols. Reporter the county is also permitting all construction, drivein religious services, landscaping and gardening maintenance. All of the above with proper protocols. The decision was made because the areas covid19 case and death rates are low compared to other parts of the bay area. Cases within the state spiked for a second straight day. But in the bay area things have slowed down. Roughly 100 new cases today for a total of 6800 cases and 298 deaths. Santa clara county is just shy of 2,000 covid cases. Statewide, though, there are more than 37,000 confirmed cases, with 2,000 cases added just today. Okay. As for lifting shelter in place orders, check out this new map from the university of washington. Researchers have estimated when each state in the u. S. Should reopen based on confirmed cases and testing capacity. Now, the purple states you can see here, theyre in three different shades. They could start opening between may 4th and the middle of may. Now, despite that recommendation georgias governor is going ahead with his decision to allow some nonessential businesses to reopen this friday, including gyms and hair salons. Even President Trump is not on board with this. I told the governor very simply that i disagree with his decision. But he has to do what he thinks is right. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp says the move is critical to bring back the states economy. But georgia has not seen a twoweek decline in cases, which the white house and cdc recommends before reopening. And Business Owners themselves are divided. Some say they will reopen while others will remain closed. Today georgia topped 20,000 confirmed cases with nearly 850 deaths. Well, the death of a south bay woman has researchers trying to figure out when the virus started infecting people in the United States. An autopsy revealed that south bay woman died of covid19 three weeks before Health Officials even knew the virus was spreading, making her death now the first in the country. The medical examiner sent tissue samples to the cdc and was told just yesterday that she died from covid19. It was three weeks before officials knew the virus was spreading when they say testing was inadequate. What these deaths tell us is that we had Community Transmission probably to a significant degree far earlier than we had known. San Leandro Police released body cam video today from a deadly shooting that happened over the weekend. An officer shot and killed Steven Taylor inside a walmart. Thats taylor there.
