Reporter senators working under new conditions with members of the house still scattered across the country. The spare the air season began yesterday and of course a record low number of cars on the road. They have dropped 20 or more on the pandemic and that is good news. Its been clear the past few days. That very nice weather and some fresh air but we have started to see a few more cars out on the roads recently so well see how that goes with our air quality as we start out this morning its a chilly start in the north bay down to 41 degrees in napa and in santa rosa but compare that to concord where we have 56 degrees and were in the low 50s in san jose. Youll see our temperatures in the mid50s to start and then trending into the mid70s by noon. Were going to see sunshine and warming temperatures just slightly warmer today compared to yesterday. The wall street journal is reporting this morning that the bay area ecigarette company juul is going to to washington, d. C. That makes sense. The company didnt need to be in the bay area. It was just founded by some stanford grads from here and juuls biggest challenge is regulatory. Washington is where the regulators are. It does, though, bring up the question how many Smaller Companies will choose to stay here if and when the pandemic ends. San francisco has some of the highest rents in the world and up until now the justification many had was this is where the best talent is. You have to come to the bay area. But this whole idea of working from home may change that as both employees and bosses realize it is possible to conduct business from your home and it kind of doesnt working receiving jobless benefits, california, its costing enough money california has become the very first state to borrow money from the federal government to pay for jobless benefits. The journal says california asks the u. S. Treasury for 348 million. Nearly 4 million californians are out of work and on unemployment benefits. Speaking of numbers, new numbers reinforce what weve been talking about with houses. Not only are prices nationwide not going down, theyre going up. Far fewer people buying homes, of course, but demand is down but so, too, are supplies. Far too few people selling. The latest numbers from the National Association of realtors show, and, again, nationwide, home p this month compared to last year when life was normal. Inventory, though, the number of houses, marcus and laura, on the market right now is at a fiveyear low. People just want to sit and stay, i guess. Shutdowns of meat packing plants are hitting home to burger chains. Wendys had to remove burgers from some locations. At least three san jose locations were out of the hamburger patties. Some longtime wendys lovers invoking the phrase wheres the beef. Recent shifts to fresh beef has left them more vulnerable. I believe failure is an opportunity to move yourself in a different direction. It gets better because youve learned the lessons from the first time. So true. If youre still at home and thinking of something nice to do outside in the north bay around petaluma, we are going to see temperatures in the middle of the afternoon at about 80 degrees. The wind at about 10 to 15. So if youre grilling, its going to blow the smoke away from the patio area. Also warm temperatures going into the afternoon. Enjoy dinner outside with all of that sunshine. It wont be as hot as the weather were getting ready for. As we look at our high temperatures for the day, low 80s for the north bay. Coastal areas will stay in the 60s. I dont think well see much of a warmup even by the end of the weekend. A wide range in temperatures across the bay area. As we check out our forecast we are going to see High Pressure continuing to build here and that will keep it very warm especially as it moves right over the bay. That gives us that sinking air and as it sinks it compresses and warms up. The good news is we do have some relief coming our way by the end of the weekend and we may even see some rain in the forecast next week. Here is a look at our sevenday forecast showing the temperatures that will be in the low 80s, upper 80s tomorrow and then some 90s for a couple of days. Whats going on right now . Ill take to you that traffic alert. I want to stop by dublin and zoom to 580 approaching Schaefer Ranch road. It was focusing into the red zone. I was told lanes would clear. Starting to improve the speeds. I think it was a distraction and a little bit of a lag. Traffic is relatively light so it was able to clear to dublin grade. They do still have traffic moving in both directions but theres Traffic Control. The big rig still there on byron highway. Do worry about that if youre traveling through byron house.
