Here is a look at the total number of cases in county by county. Were approaching 40,000 across the bay area. Alameda county tends to be one of the hot spots. More than 9,200 cases. Because Santa Clara County is on the states watch list Indoor Services including Church Services are prohibited, but that isnt stopping one church from getting together. Reporter if you take a look over here can you see the traffic on southbound highway 17 is once again flowing smoothly. But just a few hours ago it was a much different scene. Protesters from a black lives matter march spilled onto the highway and it was a chaotic scene as traffic came to a standstill on highway 17 and the protesters finished the closure of both directions. Some drivers who were stuck in gridlock got out of their cars and walked down the highway. Chp tried to divert onto highway 9. This happened at the end of a march supporting the black lives Matter Movement in los gatos that began at 11 00 downtown. There were heated exchanges between protesters and counterprotesters, some who waved flags. Both sides listened to each other and presented their arguments passionately. Organizers say the goal was to protest systemic racism and represent the black lives Matter Movement in an area they say is predominantly white. One black lives matter advocate said the significance of protesting in this area. They dont understand whats really going on, why the protests are even happening. We decided to take it to them and really make a statement saying that were here, were peaceful, we want to you listen to us. The Africanamerican Community and people of color i dont think anybody opposes that. We oppose the way its gone about and the markist views of the black lives matter for sure. The black lives matter mural outside trump tower in new york city has been vandalized yet again, the second time in just 24 hours and the third time in the last week. Two women are throwing what appears to be black paint over it. Both were arrested. Democratic lawmakers are calling for action instead of condolences for the late john lewis. They are planning to ask to reintroduce the Voting Rights advantagement in his name. John r. Lewis 2020 and send it over to the senate. And then Mitch Mcconnell and the president can demonstrate real respect for the life and legacy of john lewis by passing the bill in the senate. There have been several crashes in the area because it is a popular spot for socalled hill bombing where skateboarders take the slope as fast as they can. Thats the question amid the heated debate over reopening schools. Tonight a new study from south korea could offer some insight. Researchers found that children younger than 10 years old spread the virus much less often than adults. The study shows those between the ages of 10 and 19 spread the virus as well as adults. So 10 seems to be the critical age in the study. Researchers suggest reopening schools could trigger more outbreaks.
