They say its about targeting students for what their personal identities are. I want to show you the stanford campus this morning. The lecturer is suspended pending results of an investigation. That person will not be in the classroom as stanford works through the specifics of what happened earlier this week. Now, according to stanford university, the instructor asked jewish and israeli students to identify themselves and have them stand in the corner of the classroom, saying this is how palestinians are treated. According to students who spoke to the chronicle, the lecturer told about 18 students this was a lesson in colonialism, blaming the war on people who want to retain israel as a jewish homeland. Now, stanfords Statement Reads in part, Academic Freedom does not permit the identitybased targeting of students. The instructor in this course will not currently teach while the University Works to ascertain the facts of the situation. Now, through this conflict, we have heard palestinians from that war zone saying, we, palestinians, are not hamas, we are not the same. While hamas considers itself a freedomseeking organization, because of its violent and terrorist tendencies, the United States says it is a terrorist organization and does not represent the people of palestine.
