Involving an elderly couple in martinez. The woman mistook her cars gas pedal for the break running over her husband and killing him this morning near Alhambra Valley road. Police say the womans in her 80s. Her husband apparently helping her park the car in the garage. Its when she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. She hit her husband and then crashed through the back wall of the garage, pinning him under the car. The man was rushed to the hospital where he died an hour later. Its dropped a few degrees since then but let me show you what i found right here in the heart of the town pleasanton. You can see what is a budding traffic jam here. People are lining up and driving through to get drive through ice cream. We are at metal like dairy you drive up and they bring your soft serve right to the car. As the way to go on a day like this. Let me show you one of the only other places to be in this entire trivalley region shadow cliff park, thats where people are doing their best to cool off on the beach, near the beach, we even found a couple with their chairs in the water. 106 degrees, thats not a record. Its about as hot as it gets around here in the trivalley area. Folks around here know what to do stay inside if you can, the streets and virtually abandoned here in pleasanton. But if you are going to leave the house looks like drive through ice cream is definitely the way to go but do not get out of the airconditioned car to get it its over with. Reporter after 55 years the Alameda County board of supervisors said enough is enough and they are ready to sell this half of the Sports Complex to oakland in the hopes to get a deal with the raiders and the as. The breaking point appears to have been coliseum city, oklahomas ambitious plan for a oaklands ambitious plan for ballpark, retail and other businesses at the site. Alameda county however felt it was just too much and wasnt going anywhere. They are still smarting from the 11 million a year they are paying for the last raiders deal. Upshot . Enough is enough. They say they will sell it to oakland for 200 million, take it off our hands and see if you can get a deal done with the raiders. Its a twist that could really shake up the whole relationship between the nfl, oakland and the as, as well. And well be getting more into that at 6 00 with new details. Right now, no newly released body camera video shows the moment a university of cincinnati Police Officer shot and killed a man he pulled over for a traffic stop earlier this month. Take a look. The officer pulled 43yearold samuel duboce over for a missing front license plated. He handed the officer a bottle of gin and said he didnt have his license. He asked dubose to get out of the car. Dubose restarts the vehicle. The officer then orders him to stop and then fires one shot at his head. People dont get shot for a traffic stop unless they are violent towards the Police Officer. And he wasnt. The prosecutor goes on to say the officers claim that the car dragged him is not true. The officer surrendered to authorities today and is facing murder charges. Sadly, we stocked it with society catfish a little while ago and because of the warmer water at the pond a lot of them died. Reporter several weeks ago, the district planted 200 catfish. Now many are floating on the surface. Bloating in the sun. Unrelated to the fish kill, a Research Team from the university of colorado is collecting data about amphibians not the fish. But they noticed the situation. Pretty gross. If the fish arent exactly, um, acclimated correctly before being transferred into a new habitat, it can potentially harm them. Reporter apparently it did. Yes. So people who went to go visit the park saw these dead fish and were alarmed understandably and thats what happened and were sorry. Reporter the Park District isnt adding any more fish to this pond until conditions improve. And that isnt expected to happen until it refills which wont happen until the winter rains come. In hayward, don ford, kpix 5. Heres the thing. The district has 10 other lakes stocked with an estimated 100,000 fish. They are all still open for fishing. A woman was killed this morning after a fourcar pile up on 880 in oakland. It happened just before 5 a. M. Near high street. Chopper 5 was over the scene. The chp says a stalled car caused the crash and then two of the cars involved caught on fire. Multiple lanes of 880 were shut down for nearly two hours while police investigated. Meanwhile, in lafayette, a brush fire threatened a home for a while. The flames broke out just after 4 a. M. On the hillside off highway 24 near the Pleasant Hill road exit. Firefighters were able to stop the flames before they spread to that nearby home. Eight acres burned but no one was hurt. So far, there have been no more flareups at the wragg fire burning near lake berryessa. Cal fire was worried that tripledigit heat could spark another flareup. They are still taking precautions. About 200 people are still evacuated and there are some road closures. Cal fire says that 7100 acres have burned so far. The fire is 80 contained. Two outbuildings have been destroyed, one home has been damaged. People flying a drone over a wildfire could be headed to jail. Drones have interfered with major wildfires all over the california this year. Theres now a reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone who flew drones over a couple of the recent big fires in southern california. One District Attorney has some strong words for who is doing it. Its an intentional act of a drone, if it was to cause one of these wonderful men and women fighting fires go down and be injured or worse scenario killed or another civilian on the ground, we will we will prosecute you for murder. There are a couple of bills that are proposed in sacramento to crackdown on drones flown over fires. The San Bernardino county sheriff has proposed shooting them out of the sky. A new oil slick popped up about a dozen miles from where a broken pipeline spilled thousands of gallons of oil off the coast of santa barbara. The coast guard is investigating where the new oil slick may have come from. It was reported near the city of goleta. The beach was closed this morning after a couple of kayakers ran into it. They came back to shore with the oil on the legs and kayak. The slick is reported to be about a half mile long. Investigators are looking into whether it was part of that Big Oil Spill that happened back in may. A 24 pipe ruptured near refugio state beach releasing more than 100,000 gallons of crude oil.
