You know, this is almost like the biggest real estate deal snafu weve seen since manhattan was sold for 24, only in this case the locals want city hall to reverse the sale and theyre loaded and its got supervisors on the hot seat. Reporter tomorrow supervises are being asked to decide if presidio terraces 35 wealthy homeowners were properly notified that they were behind in their taxes and that the street and the sidewalks were about to be sold out from under them or if the 90,000 tax sale to michael chen and tina lamb stands. Both sides are lobbying the supervises for the needed six votes. Supervisors for the six votes. Its been pretty cool overall. I dont get the sense they are very keen on backing the state law and the Tax Collector on this. From the beginning the issue has been that the property was sold without anybodys knowledge. Reporter supervisor aaron peskin has been pouring over the arguments from both sides. There are no particular procedures in our rules or our codes because this has never been used before. Reporter even u. S. Senator and former mayor Dianne Feinstein who lived on the street 20 years waded into the fray saying the Tax Collector dropped the ball. They called in feinstein. The package was 11 inches long, too big for a mailbox. That is why it had to be hand delivered. Some of these parts are very rudimentary. They just are wires that when you open a package, they full on each other and make contact and thats what completes the circuit. Some of them are not very sophisticated, but theres always some sort of footprint left how this device was made. Reporter now investigators believe this bomb was created by the same person who mailed another bomb to a home in East Palo Alto october 19th. A father was injured when he opened it. The package was sent to his son. The two share the same name. Its very serious. Its a serious federal offense. Its a violation of 18usc 1716 and weve got a whole task force of people working on it. Reporter investigators are working on trying to reconstruct the package so that the mailing label and serial number can be read. That information will point them to the exact post office the package was dropped off at. Surveillance video will be examined since all post offices have cameras recording people who mail packages. As for why it took that long . We safely stopped the flow of gas as quickly and safely as we possibly could. Reporter pg e cut gas to roughly 400 people today due to this leak.
