Reporter can, i am standing on mcallister street. This area was closed down since 3 00 today because of the gas main that ruptured. The good news is people can now come home. They have stopped the flow of gas. We have some video of the only person who was injured during this incident. A woman was taken to the hospital with potential respiratory issues. She is said to be in good condition. Here is what the Fire Department told us what happened earlier today. There was a crew working on a separate project digging into the ground. They accidentally struck about a four inch gas main. That sent fumes leaking into the air for just under two hours now. Here is how Jonathan Baxter from the Fire Department described what happened. If you listen carefully, you can hear the hissing behind us. If you take your fingers, and you are looking at a four Inch Diameter about here, all of that is going to be gas coming out. So, that is the gas collectively coming out. It is dissipating. We dont have a strong head wind right now. We are more concerned with everybody downwind. Residence were coming home and were not sure if they were able to get home. Many of them were told to find an alternative place to go. It was 12 buildings that were evacuated. 16 people that the Fire Department knocked on their door and told them you have got to go. I was about maybe 50 feet away from it, and i was like what is that smell, what is that sound . The Fire Department is going to go check in on our dog cricket to make sure she is okay. That is all we are really concerned about. Whatever happens else, we are fine. Veronica, thank you. The judge who presided over the controversial standard great trial is now facing a recall. This is about judicial integrity. I am holding this judge accountable. The Santa Clara County board of supervisors would add the recall to the june 5 ballot. The voters in Santa Clara County have spoken loud and clear. It is generally utilized and always utilized for judges who have egregious track records on the bench who have abused the law. This judge hasnt abused anything or anyone. He was a judge for 17 months. During that short window of time, he issued a number of really egregious decisions. The recall campaign was launched after critics say a judge handed out a light sentence for brock turner. He was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman outside of a campus frat party. The voters want to see him on a ballot, and they want to have the opportunity to hold him accountable for his pattern of biased. He followed sentencing guidelines and fear the potential fallout if he is removed from the bench worrying about judges handing out harsher sentences that would disproportionately affect communities of color. Judges are not going to be willing to exercise their discretion to be lenient for fear of being recalled. The county estimates it would cost between a half million and 1 million for this special election, but there are already candidates on the ballot. That will be a small price to pay for what they describe as justice. Two firefighters are being treated for minor injuries this evening. They were hurt battling a two alarm fire at this Apartment Building in the warm springs area. At least two units were heavily damaged. San jose police are investigating a shooting near the california carwash. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. This is the citys fifth homicide of the year. Investigators are checking to see if the cameras at that carwash can assist them in their investigation.
