Here at the food bank, elderly or retired volunteers make up a large portion of their manpower. But the shelter in place order has forced many of them to stay home. Well, a caltrans building in oakland is set to reopen after an employee tested positive there for the virus. Crews are cleaning and disinfecting the District Four Office on grand avenue. It was shut down on monday. Its expected to reopen to employees and the public tomorrow. The agency says the closure has not interrupted caltrans operations. But this comes as eight quarantined Alameda County firefighters are being cleared for duty. They were exposed to another firefighter who tested positive for coronavirus. Six of them have been cleared to return to work today while the other two have pending clearances. Theyre expected to return within one week. Several testing sites for the coronavirus are now set up around the bay area but its important to note most require some form of prescreening. Existing conditions or a doctors order before a test will be given. Nearly all the tests require that the patient meet cdc criteria. That includes exposure to someone with the illness, being 60 years or older, a serious chronic medical condition like heart disease, diabetes or lung disease, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath. Bottlerock napa valley will now be the weekend of october 2nd. It was originally scheduled for the end of may. Festival Officials Say all of the headliners, including red hot chili peppers, stevie nicks and miley cyrus will play the new dates. The new timing for bottlerock means it will be the same weekend as hardly, strictly bluegrass in San Franciscos golden gate park. That Music Festival is free and this year is its 20th anniversary. It was just seeing my teacher on the screen and having some of my classmates in little boxes. You only get 30 minutes with them. So its not really much of class. Youre kind of just hearing what you got to do for homework and thats it. Our message to our students stay engaged as much as possible with their learning. Reporter the superintendent of schools for east side union in san jose, chris funk, says its a hard time for students taking ap college exams. I certainly hope the College Board understands the situation that were in and they push those tests off until june or july. Reporter he said the possibility of the school year ending is real and will be made next week. But its not all bad news. Every student who was passing their courses leading up to the closure will be able to pass their course and receive full credit. So theyre going to try to do a lot of Virtual Tours and stuff. Reporter Colin Richardson is a senior which says it could affect his college choices. Its not the same as stepping on to the place you might live for the next four years. So today faculty allowed them to wear their gowns and masks and graduate just in case the school year does not resume. And classes for those students have been canceled until at least april 19th. One more chance of showers tomorrow then a largely dry forecast for friday and saturday. Maybe a chance of a couple of passing sprinkles. I dont think well see any measurable rain. And were looking at some heavier rain around fairfield as well. No thunderstorms out there today unlike yesterday, but locally heavy downpours. Inland portions of east bay more likely to see showers than along the bay itself. Were looking at some hit or miss showers into Alameda County as well. Livermore getting rain for the fourth day in a row. More showers around at san jose once again. But not as heavy as yesterday and were not seeing as much snow showing up on the map in the higher terrain, especially around mt. Hamilton where it was whiteout conditions at this point yesterday. Zoom back out and put everything into motion. Farther north we see the shower once again. Not much around santa rosa. South from that perspective. You see everything dropping off the radar then a few sprinkles as we head toward 11 00 this evening. And then a couple sprinkles still possible tomorrow morning. Looks like were going to be largely dry at that point. But the same mat earn is going to repeat itself that weve seen. Locally dense fog, especially in valley locations, and then as the atmosphere warms up, not a lot, but enough to get some showers going. Were going to see those developing over the higher terrain. And then they drift around as a storm system is gradually going to lose its influence over us over the next 24 hours. Which is why were going to see a largely dry forecast heading our way for friday and saturday. East bay and the bay bridge right now, showers in the distance. Its 53 degrees in concord right now with that rain falling, keeping temperatures on the cool side. Same thing for livermore. Same thing around san jose. 58 degrees in oakland with sun peeking through the clouds in oakland and the city. 54 degrees right now in San Francisco. Low temperatures tonight will be a bit on the chilly side. Once again in the upper 30s in northern valleys. Otherwise, low to hid 40s. Slightly warmer around the bay, slightly cooler farther inland. Opposite tomorrow, slightly cooler around the bay. Were used to that. Upper 50s to around 60 degrees a better chance to climb into the 60s as you head farther inland. A little closer to whats normal for the middle of march and spring which arrives tomorrow. The first full day of spring on friday might actually feel a little bit like it. High temperatures in the low to mid60s for most of us and warmer on saturday as the dry weather continues into the first half of the weekend but we bring more showers into the forecast by sunday, monday and tuesday of next week.
