This goes into effect thursday afternoon and goes through 6 00 friday evening. The winds will not be as strong as they were, but when you have an of fire the size of the glass complex, the potential for it to spread in a nude direction has escalated concerns. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 25 miles per hour. Combine that with near record High Temperatures again, and the associated low humidity, that is a bad combination. The wind gusts over the night into tomorrow remaining below 15 miles per hour. Those are the gusts. Sustained winds are going to remain below that. Thursday the winds could start picking up a little bit more but at this point, thursday evening, not too bad just yet. We see higher gusts thursday night into friday. This is not going to be a repeat of what we had over the last weekend with hot, dry and extremely windy conditions, but still, anything that can spread the fire further than it has already gone is something to watch carefully. We will take a look at the air quality forecast in just a few minutes. A live look at cleveland. The first president ial debate is in the books. Reporter for this first time voter, she says the debate was not a game changer. She is relying on her own research. Im looking online and that multiple resources. I am involved in a organization through san jose state. It helps me get opposing views. Reporter the taproom showed the debate on one screen, the baseball playoffs on another. Only, in baseball, there is a known winner. I do not think that based on the debate, it is really going to change peoples mind. Reporter if there is one thing both sides can agree on, the next debate needs less interrupting and less name calling. This zoom call is from the naacp. Trump was unable to fully answer a question on the signs of climate change. He was unable to to condemn the ku klux klan. Biden also has to be a little bit more prepared, as well, and come back with fax. Did people feel let down about the debate . How contentious it got . Reporter i think they left underwhelmed. I think a lot of people went into, or at least those i talked to do not have expectations going into. A lot of them said, we just watched for the entertainment value, not really the president ial value. They already had their minds made up. All right, not many more days before the election. It continues to evolve but right now, the plan involves a hybrid of students at home and schools. Students would begin returning to class a few grades at a time getting with firstgraders and kindergartners october 12. Half would attend 2 1 2 days. Grades one through five would begin a live class zoom morning meeting if they are at home or even in the classroom. We will date if there are any decisions on the backtoschool plan tonight. Active fire watches in many cities. The main drag through calistoga and st. Helena, virtually empty. The only traffic flowing along highway 128 consists of emergency vehicles and people heading out of the area. I have never seen st. Helena this empty, especially the main drag. Ke a ghost town. Aside from the cars going up and down the main street here, it is dead. We have much more fi coverage. Later on, the northbay wineries that survived the flames that may not survive the aftermath. Switching gears, lets take a live look outside of ourselves or skimmer. You see that typical San Francisco fog blanketing the city, there. It is beautiful, really. To see fog and not the alternative. Smoke . The fog moving inland has helped out the fire crews a little bit. It is a good newsbad news a situation the smoke obscuring visibilities and making it tougher to battled the fire from the air, but from ground level, temperatures are going to be the problem tomorrow. They will reach up into the 90s. After the start off in the 50s and 60s which is okay, but as temperatures warm up humidity drops that will run tomorrow afternoon between 25 and 30 . Not as low as over the weekend or even early nest yesterday morning. The good news is they winds are going to be light. The light, protectable wind, consistent wind is what fire crews hope for when trying to figure out where to position resources. Unfortunately it will be hotter and windier on friday. In terms of air quality, it is going to be in the unhealthy category for most of the northbay and inland in the east bay by tomorrow afternoon as the smoke from the glass complex continues to blow down in that direction. It will also be unhealthy for sensitive groups across the rest of the bay area because the winds will not be quite as strong. That is what directs everything. Smoke is going to filter through the rest of the bay area. We will track that in detail coming up during our next half hour. Lets talk about what is happening right now. Another view of the fog. We are looking at the bay 56 degrees in santa rosa. That is good news. As the temperatures drop, the humidity goes up even with consistent moisture in the atmosphere. Otherwise temperatures mostly in the 60s. 61 in oakland, 67 it in concord. There is the fog spilling inland into the trivalley and the valleys of the north they, as well. Getting closer to the glass complex helping to boost humidities further. The fog will backup more quickly than it did today. That means temperatures will warm up more quickly. It only made it into the mid 60s today while temperatures further east made it to 100 degrees. A huge contrast in temperatures but it will be warmer for areas around the water. Tonight, only dropping another degree in the city. Temperatures dropping into the 50s and low 60s by early tomorrow morning and then we heat up. It will not be out of control, yet, mid 50s in San Francisco, 60s along the coast. Mid to upper 80s for the south bay and around 100 degrees for the trivalley and east of the diablo range. We have a heat advisory that kicks in on thursday. This goes through 8 00 in the evening. This is for inland portions of the bay area and even around the bay itself because temperatures are going to reach up into the mid80s and low 90s around the bay. The coast gets the break here. In there you will be in the mid to upper 70s. Will recite any records . We are going to give it a run. San jose will be within a couple degrees of a record on thursday. New month, same problems. Heat, fire danger, air quality. 102 for a High Temperature in livermore tying the record and likely breaking record High Temperatures in concorde. That is the peak of the heat, not a substantial drop but we will take what we can get. Nday, moay and tuesday but and closer to what is reasonable for this time of year. Coming up in the next half hour, we will track the smoke as it evolves around the bay area over the next several days still to come, it was an event like any other. A two run jack. Luzardo did not make it out of the fourth inning. Quite a different story for Lucas Giolito who struck out eight. He had one of baseballs two no hitters this year. He carried chicago to a 41 win putting oakland on the brink of elimination. It is time for us to respond tomorrow. We will have to do more offensively take. I know there is a lot of pessimism going around from a lot of people, but not in this clubhouse. We dont let that into this clubhouse. What is it with the as . They arsenic that on this playoff thing the last couple seasons. They burn up their division and do really well and then get into the playoffs and cannot hit. I thought the as looked really tentative, almost pressing at the plate today. Their prodigious offensive machine. But as you say, they get to the playoffs and they are just snakepit and cannot get back. They lose them all, their season is over. Something else. I have no good news. Something else dennis, thank you. Up next, drama on the debate stage. The gloves came off in a hurry. We have full highlights and analysis.
