Well talk about the weekend and some relief is coming. Details are coming up. Good morning. As we look at the throads, wev got a back up at the bay bridge. Metering lights are turned on and things are starting to stack up. Delays to the 880 over crossing, not beyond that yet but the morning drive is busier as you make the drive out of the east bargaining i to San Francisco. The Early Morning road work we had on the upper deck of the bay bridge, that is gone. Once you are passed this things look better into the city as you head near that fremont exit on the San Francisco side. Bart delays are in effect. There is a 20 minute delay on the richmond line due to equipment problems on the track. Thank you. Developing, oak land police are investigating a triple shooting. This is citizen video from the scene. It happened last night near 89th and international. Areas of snohomish bay times reports three were shot. At least one was killed. There is no word on a suspect. This is the 83rd homicide this career in the city. There was another triple shooting wednesday nine blocks from this shooting and two people died. Power is still out because of the record breaking heat mary was talking about. The purple outage triangles on your screen are mainly in the north bay and san mateo. All other outages have been mostly restored. Katie nielsen is live in calistoga where a lot of people are still in the dark this morning. Reporter good morning, anne. We are just outside downtown calistoga on the west side of the napa river. This neighborhood is basically dark. The only thing we are seeing, a couple glowing solar lights and head lights as people are getting up trying to head out. Other than that the only lights out here are ours. Public safety power shut offs impacted about 40,000 customers across 24 counties. Pg e estimated 53,000 customers would lose power but pg e was able to reduce the number affected due to better than expected weather conditions. Those in calistoga say its been difficult because many just returned home last weekend after being evacuated during to the glass fire. Emptied the fridge, cleaned the fridge, restocked the fridge and here we are having to empty again. I am fairly old. So i have learned to just not get stressed over it. There is nothing i can do about it. Reporter pg e crews have to inspect every mile of line for wind damage after a psps and before lines can be reenergized. About 10,000 customers did get their lights yesterday. The rest should have power restored by the end of today. Some businesses were preparing for this psps. We are by the calistoga inn. You can see they have some of the lights this morning and that is all thanks to this massive generator that they have on the side street off of downtown calistoga. We have seen some other businesses here on the west side of calistoga inside the psps area that also have lights on probably due to preparedness and having those generators in place. Generators are a real life saver. I love that lady who said you just gotta live with it. What can you do . Kpix5 will have continuing coverage on air and online as power shut offs continue to play out. A live look at capitol hill, the count down is on. In six days Senate Judiciary committee is set to vote whether to recommend approval of judge Amy Coney Barrett to Supreme Court. Joining us now is our Legal Correspondent jan crawford live in washington, dc. Good morning. Its good to see you. Lets get into this, short on votes, democrats used their time yesterday to plead with republicans not to confirm barrett. They really have nothing they can do. This moment of bipartisan ship between Dianne Feinstein and Lindsey Graham, feinstein is facing backlash for a hug shared with the republican. What does that say about the state of our politics in this country right now . Well as you said, groups on the left are really going after her for that saying it was outrageous. Out of all the stuff we have seen from the hearing, democrats going after republicans for trying to ram through through a sham of a hearing as some were pointing out day after day, thats how it is with the hug and thanks to the republican chairman. People on the left are outraged. Theyve been upset with feinstein before over judges. She sometimes does show more civility on the committee. I have covered it for a long time. I think of them as hat fields and mccoys. Here comes Dianne Feinstein and inject this moment of stability that didnt sit well. You can see what it says about the state of our politics. Sure. If the committee does recommend a full senate vote next week and judge barrett is confirmed, how significant would her role be if Election Results end up in court . Thats hard to say. Some of the democrats said if it does get to the Supreme Court, she needs to recuse. She said she was not going to make the commitment during the hearing, that she would consult with colleagues which is typical for how judges decide if they have a conflict of interest and need to sit the case out. I dont think at the end of the day, pray this doesnt happen, even if this does reach Supreme Court, i dont think it will hinge on one vote. The court is acutely aware that its institutional integrity is on the line and will do everything they can to try to at least speak with a more unanimous or united vote not along the ideological lines. Maybe it wont matter much for the election but what it will matter for is the future of the Supreme Court and all the cases that have enormous impact on our lives. Once shes confirmed, looks like she will be, it will be a more solid conservative Supreme Court. It could affect a lot of things. Womens Rights Groups are calling that out along with the Affordable Care act. Well have to see what happens. Jan crawford, thanks so much. Coming up, president ial candidates address possibility of judge barretts confirmation to the Supreme Court. 6 08. We are taking a live look at the city of oakland where city leaders are teaming with the city of portland to sue the trump administration. It is over what they call the unlawful deployment of federal Law Enforcement officers to quell protests. Oakland has been threatened many times by this administration. We were pleased to join with portland who saw uninvited federal troops intervene in a way that local officials knew was actually not creating safety or peace. One of the concerns is that when federal authorities take over jurisdiction of a protest even people arrested by local officers could face federal charges which generally carry stiffer penalties. To be clear, federal agents were never sent to oakland as President Trump threatened. We have a happy ending this morning for this endangered zoo animal.
