Hundreds of people, thousands, have contacted us, told us stories, written emails saying, i cannot even mention that i am republican. I do not feel welcome in my own state. Due to the states destructive liberal policies, i cannot live here anymore. I am trapped in liberal hell. I am conservative, and i will not be tolerated in california. That is what we hear. They cannot even have a conversation. It is not that they are seeking a state that has a certain ideology, they are seeking things for their family, and those things exist because of those ideologies. And that is what texas is. I miss what california was. I miss the weather. But i am glad i am out. Chabot there on his move from california to texas. The Swedish Academy<\/a> described his books as having great emotional force. He said the award was flabbergastingly flattering. [indiscernible] it is awarded to the english writer, Kazuo Ishiguro<\/a>. I thought, in this age of false news, i thought it was perhaps a mistake. Reporter Kazuo Ishiguro<\/a> has written seven novels in his 35 year literary career, he has won numerous other awards to go with his nobel prize. His first novel, a pale view of hills, made Immediate Impact<\/a> when published in 1982. It, like his second book, an artist of the floating world, features a japanese protagonist. I do feel that the japanese part of my upbringing is crucial to who i am as a person and as a writer. I am a british citizen, i have lived in this country since the age of five, entirely educated in this country. But, i did grow up in a japanese home. There was another dimension. I saw things through the eyes of the japanese people, British Society<\/a> through japanese eyes. Reporter he is perhaps best known for his 1989 book the remains of the day, which was made into a film with Anthony Hopkins<\/a> and emma thompson. Mr. Stevens . Yes . You must not take anything i say to heart. It is hideously easy to miss great opportunities in life. I think that is something we all face. I think my books have often addressed that. People who did not quite see love when it came. It is one of the things i resort to, is to create a situation in which the character perhaps understates things, almost frustratingly, from the readers point of view. I want the reader to say, how can you, why did you not react more . Why are you screaming . Why do you keep these things to yourself . Reporter Kazuo Ishiguro<\/a> creates characters and worlds we can inhabit and believe in. Of course, that is the novelists job. I dont think many of them turned out to be true.
