In the terms of fresh firefighters, theyre stretched thin, but they are making a lot of progress 17 can tame and thats up from 13 and good news to pass along they hope to make significant inroads in the fire over the next several days because the conditions look really good meaning winds are down humidity is up and that means they can launch their aircraft once again which yesterday they did for the First Time Since the fire started more than a week ago and they were able to drop 200,000 gallons of water down to the flames. They hope to do as much if not more today unfortunately because the fires are still burning in a lot of times theyre in rugged hard to reach areas that the new number to pass along this morning. 330. Thats the number of structures are homes destroyed thats up from around 280 yesterday so the fire has been destructive although not as deadly. No fatalities in the overnight hours, no major injuries as far as evacuations people. 77,000 people have been told to evacuate and know they are still not allowing people to return to their homes a lot of the homes have gone up in flames and theres nothing to return to the expect that number to go up robin marty because today well be trying to clear some of the roads the debris trying to get past some of the bridges that were destroyed to get in there to count once again how many homes are still left and how many are destroyed. Heres cal fire talking about it at a News Conference earlier this morning. And for the public as its the roadways are very very dangerous out there. So those are still in the fire area. And you need to be very your. Driving around if youre out and about or even year around your property has been damaged by fire. Those trees are a weekend due to fire also due to drought so. Lisa because of that the firefighters are out there putting themselves in in that same environment and were doing whatever we can to protect them and also get the roadways open. So we can or damage inspection teams in there well evaluate what losses we have but determine structures or so laps so. Feast your eyes on this robin marty and for our viewers at home that is not smoke so happy to pass that along to you that is karl the fog in the santa cruz area and because its foggy its helping the conditions as far as the firefighting efforts not extremely hot today that fog will lift and they dont expect winds to really pick up the on 20 Miles Per Hour and that is important because anything less than that they can send their aircraft back up in the air to do a lot of the firefighting the heavy lifting but they still have boots on the ground of course, and they still struggling guys with the resources. They say mutual aid is a robust system for a bus is aware that they used a very Healthy System right now because of all the fires burning in California Resources are still stretched very thin. Back to you. All right the cooler in the foggy or the better for firefighters. Thank you well there you go. Well lets continue our Team Coverage now we move now to the north bay for the lnu complex fire. This map shows the complex of fires that are burning in sonoma napa and solano counties. Lets check in with kron 4 Sarah Stinson who is live in napa county shes taking a closer look at the damage homes and property sarah. Yeah, i moved away from where i was earlier, you know, i was at a Mobile Home Park where one mobile home was completely destroyed. I drew i drove in way further where i heard there was more destruction near Lake Berryessa and thats what im seeing off headlands drive you can see here this is on carlson way. And 2 homes back to back just flattened destroyed burned to the ground you can see a boat that caught fire and was destroyed. 2 cars that are completely burned and destroyed i mean the destruction along the way Lake Berryessa is astounding to see. Theres not a lot of service in there so its hard to show you live this morning. But let me zoom in really quick. Let me just give you 4 per for perspective thats Lake Berryessa and this is a neighborhood right across the street. Driving in here i so so many homes burned to a crisp you can see all thats left is just rubble here on carlson way there are a lot of homes here that are still standing, theres just too that are back to back burns you can see the hill behind did that is all charred and thats where the flames are raging and then unfortunately it caught these homes on fire. This is the scene i mean a lot of homes are destroyed. And when the evacuation orders are lifted into evacuation warnings. This is what potentially these homeowners and people who live out here are going to see. Now we know now that the l a new lightning complex has grown by 2 1000 acres. Its a total of 352,000 acres and as 27 contained overnight they were able to get to more percent of containment which sounds little but every single percent counts and we know they had some successes because of the red flag warning being lifted meaning. The wind shifted it was able to calm down nike firefighters chance to really get after a trying to get some containment, but it wasnt easy. Im still had challenging. You know conditions that they were going theyre seeing theyre seeing that the fire running in several Different Directions and this this is impacting several communities. Napa county in lake county here is where the hennessy fire is not is where. The majority of the ellen new lightning complex has been burning with 296 50 acres burned 29 contained theyve been working hard to get this under control and as i told you earlier i was live at that Mobile Home Park i talked with a man who lives there he explained how he evacuated and then what he saw when he came back just 2 days later. Ahead of the fairfield brekkie right back up the next morning bus 6 in the morning. And this place said reignited. Soon as i got some of the community here we need to hop in. Kept it contained until Fire Department came in. There again they stepped up and. They had it under control within about 1015 minutes, but before and it was already a total loss. If it were to continue to burn in life and rely. It would just keep going you know yet. And you can see in that video right there that is a childs bedroom and its very eerie to see because theres no roof you can see the closet there and the door to the room just all shaped weird from the flames that worked at not way and then just charred land all around there, but as he said i mean it could have been much work at worse at that Mobile Home Park it could have put that one on fire and then just continued to rage into the entire area, the fortunate lee firefighter stopped it from burning there here steel canyon road and carlson way other homeowners were not so lucky know im going to be driving around trying to see get a better idea of some of the devastation in this area all near Lake Berryessa for now well send it back to you marty robin. All right sir, thanks so much for giving us that really close up look at some of the destruction that homeowners are going to now have to deal with and start to rebuild. Thanks a lot for that live report. Well so far the l a new fire has destroyed nearly 1000 buildings and homes but one home and Solano County was spared. Thanks to no small part the owners Fire Prevention measures. Felie reports. And over the ridge last weeks fire barreled towards homes in Solano County. In some homes were saved theres that thing called survivors guilt right and i had always heard about it now my wife and i are living it, but others devastated by the fastmoving flames. He had several neighbors that have lost everything we feel horrible for properties in great shape. Its an burned but everything around it is destroyed mark van pelt has spent the last year preparing for what he hoped would never happen we spent a lot of time and effort and Fire Prevention and work and save our properties. Including his hands and theyre cooper, so my chickens and i really started crying because we thought for sure they were gone his home surveillance camera catching flames burning a right up to his fire break which includes an irrigation System Design to soak in area and that turn that area might trim to trees that gets the trees away from the fuel underneath and then we have a green line around the entire house well definitely working his case for sure italian chief mike duggan says you can never be too prepared. Its really i think the biggest thing is Defensible Space but even still in seconds you could lose it all chief dugan says its not easy seeing his district so is its very hard. I can only imagine that was lower have fellow reporting for us at this point the lnu complex fire is the same size as the entire state of rhode island. With that puts it in perspective. Were also monitoring the woodward fire thats in marine county its grown to nearly 2500 acres its 5 contained this morning. So thats what we have going on its the morning fog which is kind of thick in spots to start today in clearing will be slow going along the coast. Mild for the bay Area Temperatures get a little warm in land but during this week we expect a little bit of an uptick in those temperatures for those inland valleys and particularly as we get into the weekend might see some mid to upper 90s potentially getting into kind of heat spike range looks like for today 66 San Francisco 73 for oakland, 85 san jose. We say mostly sunny, but still smoky skies lower 90s going on in land got the 80s here for the north bay 80s also on the east bay shoreline to the south and 85 san jose of course coming up in a bit well check out of the 4 zone forecast robin.
