A but that all changes, which means if you like the cool enjoy today, its 50s and 60s. Right now later on today, 60s to 70s for your daytime highs. Nothing too terribly warm this weekend. We got down to 13 minutes the lowest all this morning. Now the san mateo bridge still pretty busy. 20 minutes, meaning get in on the bridge, taking a little extra time. Richmond, sandra fell bridge a little under 14 minutes tolls to 101. And we do have an accident in the north bay along 101 traveling through san refill. So drive times went up there. 37 minutes. 37 down to the tolls. Our james, back to you. Thank you. Reyna. Lets get back to the developing news that were covering in just a little while. The former president , donald trump is going appear in a dc court room. After being indicted now for a 3rd time. Yeah. The former president accused of trying to overturn the 2020 president ial election. We have a live look outside of the courthouse this morning. There you see it. We know the barricades were set up around the building last night. Todays Court Hearing expected to be in at about 1 oclock or so this afternoon kron fours dc correspondent Alexandra Limon is watching whats going on live from washington. And in court today, trump is expected to plead not guilty to the extraordinary charges that say he attempted to defraud the United States by illegally trying to cling to power. We have never had a situation where a sitting president is accused of plotting basically the overthrow of democracy itself. Thursday, former President Donald Trump will appear in federal court in a historic case. Facing charges for what legal experts say is the most important criminal case in u. S. History. This indictment is a all right. Well, well get back to that story about the president s indictment a little bit later on. But we have to break away because we have at this point, some breaking news officials now giving us an update on the hundreds of boxes containing Hazardous Materials were found in the backyard of a home in pablo. In fact, lets join that press conference now has its just getting underway. Chris toler, c h r i s t o l e r im a captain with Contra Costa CountyFire Protection district. Yesterday morning. Approximately 10, 30. Weve got a call was originally dispatched as a gas leak quickly turn into a Hazardous Materials incident. The homeowner which weve gotten reports from the neighbors passed away few months ago. His brother was in the process of cleaning up his property, move some chemicals. He was cleaning up. He soon found that those chemicals or Hazardous Materials. He was advised to go ahead and call the Fire Department or call 911. That initiate the Hazardous Materials incident were dispatched and it quickly went from small incident to a major haz mat. As as you see behind us right now. Were a lot of different chemicals, a lot of different classes of chemicals. We dont know everything that we have in the storage or that he had in the store. Chet, the bomb squad are con far has mat busy processing all of that. Theyre trying to identify contains stabilizing transport and properly dispose of those materials. Due to the classifications of materials or Hazardous Materials. There are some explosive classifications or class sees explosive classes products and that a particular set. But theyre also a lot of other types of materials are chemicals in and that it. We do not know. Were trying our best and were really, really, sorry for inconveniencing the citizens of san pablo. Were trying our best to work as quickly as we possibly can. We w. Nt to do it. Safely as we can to get them back in their homes. So we request that they continue to be patient with were trying to rebut with the neighborhood as quickly as possible. Just about the work were doing now. You mentioned some of most you most area. And there is cause for concern what going to be you know, now. That crews have to move methodically. They have to move slowly because they do not know. And a lot of the containers were labeled. We working late. So the process that they have to take is testing the material, the material. Due to its very nature. What we consider explosive could just be a chemical reaction. A lot of the materials have been identified as being light sensitive motion sensitive, a reactive to water. So they have to be careful and theyre going through that process. Each of those types reactions require different type of action from the hazard. Material our technicians. So its very methodical. Its very slow. To ensure their safety and the safety of the neighborhood. They have to move in that slow pace. You talk about the i dont know his weve heard that he was a professor. Weve heard that he was a chemist, but thats just due to the neighbors in the neighborhood so thats about all i know as far as what he did for a living. Kind they they are improper containers. So the art stable, they should not be in the type of containers that theyre in or the containers have become so degraded over time that they are unstable. So we dont know. It kind of covid. Due to the response you see behind us, i would say they were not legal in the neighborhood. And how long do you think that theyve been sitting . We dont know. Months, days have based on. Based on the look in the parents of the containers of boxes. I would say its been years, but we dont know when i dont know personally in the text that are processing the scene. Have no clue in different types of classes of materials are next to each other. And that environment. So it. There any indication kind there are no indications that point to a meth lab or drug lat. Say our hope is we can get them back in their homes that some point today. But i cant. Can clarify or confirm right now were trying as hard as we can to get them back hopefully we can start repopulating areas around the perimeter. But i cant tell you exactly where that that will happen. Their own. The bottle we have reports of hundreds of boxes with multiple chemicals in boxes and its a storage shed. So chemicals in containers are just placed throughout the shift. We had also reports or an estimate that the ship was 12 by 14. And its full. Hundreds of boxes. Any idea nation when he was . The the passed away. So we have not had any contact with the original owner where the original store of the products with the brother living in the home. The brother was cleaning the home. Was about. You have to get that number from custer county. Im sorry. Contra costa college. Theres the evacuation center. We went door to door here and make sure that the mandatory evacuation area was clear so if they were not home, we could get the numbers to help me. Residents were in well have another briefing 12. Took 12 noon here 11 stand. Been able we have been able to remove some and dispose of some committees, the bomb squad and a hazmat has a record of what they we dont have that. Information readily available now to the public. Some 30 theyre able to test on i would have to get a subject matter as of those type of questions for it. Due to the safety of our crews and the residents. There is a fatigue factor that comes into play with the methodical process in which they have to process the chemicals. So we want to give them a rest period. This is our second operational period. So we anticipate submitted on this being expended incident. So its pretty much standard forced to kind of get our crews rest and then to the technicians back spirit. Thank you. Thank you such a better idea that briefing on whats going on in that neighborhood. Now in san ramon, a san pablo. So you heard him refer to hundreds of boxes that fill this 12 by 14 shed right . And theyve got to work through this. These are unstable there, chemicals, old, old that into your reaction there is so high is a lot of worry. If youre just joining in our own familiar with the story, this was a situation at a home on the 900 block. Over stanton avenue there, san pablo, where up person who had died. Their brother was going through the effects of the home, preparing for sale and came across boxes of chemicals and turns out it wasnt just a few boxes. As tara mentioned. Hundreds of boxes in a backyard shed filled with chemicals. The former owner was a chemist, perhaps brought them home from work, but they werent supposed to be in a residential area and thats why hazmat teams are out there very carefully removing some of these potentially volatile chemicals. They dont want any sort of, you know, combustion reaction and and you dont. Mean, they say theyve been there for years. This could have happened at any time. Theyre just aware of it now. And they say its going to be some time. Before they feel thats safe for people to go back. And so stay tuned because well keep you posted on when if it if today at all, youre allowed to go back into that neighborhood. 14 right now and the weather sure is delightful has been the last couple days. Well, one in the south bay start and be really busy down there. The last time i read about 45, not quite 50 now weve hit it. Okay. So almost an hour to get from 85 up to menlo park. 2, 80 82, 2 options for you. There, the bay bridge. 23 minute ride into the city right now. Traffics not building at the toll on the bridge, san mateo bridge. Now were down to 16 minutes. We might have gotten up to about 18, 19 minutes. Im not too long ago. 35 in right along 88 easily intial down in milpitas and 80s. So crockett out towards mays 30 minutes.
