And as a result, it doesnt look like theres a huge delays going on now. But for about an hour there, everything was stopped short. We can show you what it looked like inside the terminal. It was just about 9. 15. The duty manager tells us when this ground staff started, that means united held every plane that was sitting on the ground. All airports. They told them, nope, cant go anywhere. Planes are already in the air were able to continue. But it was due to this Technical Glitch. Everything else came to a stop just before about 11 oclock things resumed again, united allowing planes to take off again from wherever they were at this point. We dont know what that Technical Glitch was to talk to some passengers about how it was affecting them. Any were able to skate through were able not to have much of a delay at all. Just dropping off my 16 yearold daughter. We live in indonesia. So shes heading down to brazil for 2 months. You can see a little bit of haze or a little cloud cover there. Come from meteorologist kyla grogan here talking a little bit about our forecast and what we can expect the rest of today. Hey, kyla. Hey there. And im happy to say weather is on our side for anyone flying today. So not seeing any major delays. I just were looking good at sfo and all of our local airports right now to take a live look from the east bay. You do see some beautiful blue skies taking shape. We have a really nice day out there a little bit below average around the bay and about where we should be in lands. You can see right now temperatures already getting into the 60s. Still says covid 70s in oakland, san jose. You can see the east bay starting to get to about 80 degrees in livermore Santa Rosa City about 74. Overall and were going or that conquered one because theyre gauges that were about of between one to about 7 degrees warmer than we were this time yesterday. Got to get that conquer gauge fix. I tell ya, but here we are. Today. Highs today and conquer one of the spots. It will be warmer than most 86 degrees today about 88 and liver. Most. Those will be the highest numbers. But close to it up in the inner north bay as you head inland and also the south bay around the bay itself, looking out for mostly 70s. So a really nice day, as i mentioned, still below average and a lot of spots. So live look at stormtracker 4 kind of shows you how quiet things are. And as we zoom in here, you can see the relay are giving us a little bit more of a break today. A little bit earlier, even starting to see a little bit of sunshine out at a spot like Half Moon Bay out at the coast now did want to point out for the burning man return. Everyone thats been heading out. They have open the roads today. You can see a little weather was just off to the east of them, but im happy to say nothing weather wise that should be hindering them, although certainly humid in the desert is something that takes a long time to kind of get back normal. But hopefully they have a good day of it today. And the overall picture really is that low pressure is tracked off to the east and were going to stay quiet for the next few days. At least i mention were getting a little sunshine out of Half Moon Bay can see here. Some of that breaking through the clouds. These are temperatures the next couple of days. Pretty consistent forecast will warm up towards the weekend. Ill talk more about that come back in a bit. Back to kayla. Thank you. San franciscos oldest lgbtq bar is getting a new home. Taking a live look outside at Golden Gate Bridge where weve got a little bit of fog, just kind of hang in right above it. Come from meteorologist kyla grogan here with more details on our forecast. Hey, kyla. Yeah. Have we do have a lot of sunshine out there, but we are showing some of these that marine layer picks because this is the reason that we are a lot cooler. Then the rest of the country, which is sweltering right now in many spots. You can see where that jet stream has allowed all of that heat to pop up there in detroit. Right now were to 91 degrees. New york city. 93, you can see 99 in dallas and many of these places have been setting records over the last couple of days. Now, just to show you the areas in red mean that they are above average temperatures. So obviously today in dallas, again, for to well above average, by the time to get to thursday, 105, but notice new york city in september looking at those low to midnineties as well. So were quite lucky that we are not dealing with that. We are not seeing extreme heat. In fact, if you look at san jose the next couple of days, were looking at below average temperatures and that makes us a little bit unusual for whats happening across the rest of the country. Heres that sunshine i was talking to you about as we take a live look outside here downtown San Francisco a little bit warmer inland today and certainly the afternoon sunshine that were seeing already tomorrow. Were going to be very quiet again with temperatures being a little bit cooler as the fog will likely hang out a little bit longer tomorrow, but still a pretty nice day. And as we get towards the weekend, thats where were going to start to see these temperatures lift up a bit. So todays highs 60s out at the coast and in San Francisco, you can see some 70s low 80s around the bay as you head inland. Thats where were going to see kind of the mid to upper 80s both in the east bay, north bay and south bay today. So keep your eye on this. Top story this halfhour, california lawmaker sending a message to other lawmakers who have been caught driving under the influence. Kron fours a ton. Wallace spoke with the lawmaker about his new dui proposal. Drinking and driving really inexcusable, especially for an elected official. Thats the message republican assemblymember billa say lee hopes to sent to fellow lawmakers with his proposal. Hr 51 should go into effect. Any member of the assembly who is arrested and charged with dui loose, a privilege to operate whats known as a pool vehicle. A government perk provided to lawmakers to help them easily get from place to place in sacramento. Most people dont even know we get a taxpayer funded car. Its a state vehicle. The state pays the tax. The state pays the gas for the car. They take care of it. And i think thats a privilege. And so when you violate that privilege and you violate the trust of the public. You shouldnt be driving your car. So its a very simple measure. The rule would apply to lawmakers until their cases result. But if a member is found guilty of deal, why hr 51 would prohibit that lawmaker from driving the pool called for a minimum of 3 it comes just months after urban state senator dave min was arrested for dui last week. He was sentenced to 3 years, informal probation. And while he did not comment after that sentencing during the night of the arrest back in may, men stated, quote, i accept full responsibility and there is no excuse for my actions. You can see that this is infrared. Look at all the different systems that are kind of scattered across, not just the atlantic, but also the pacific. But lets start with the atlantic where we have a new tropical depression. This is td 13 and can see right now sustained winds at just 35 miles per hour. But it doesnt take up much to see where this is going right towards the caribbean and that it is going to rapidly intensify, expected to become a major hurricane, maybe a category 3 by the time we head towards next weekend. So you can see here by thursday, already a category 2. That is one to watch that. Heres another one in the pacific. Weve just had next Tropical Storm formed. This is Tropical Storm joe but now sustained winds about 50 miles per hour. Now this one again is going to rapidly intensify. You can see it becomes a category 3 as we get into thursday. Now, the difference with this one is that its going to be going into cooler water as it starts to head out. So that should hopefully start to slow down. But just to show you very powerful systems that are coming around now. And it is interesting when you consider that, you know, the water is a little warmer than it has been that starts to fuel these and and it just i tell you, its been an active season and were not done yet as this Hurricane Season goes through november, believe it or not, so bring it back to the bay.
