In addition to her closest colleagues, her granddaughter also shared some beautiful memories of growing up with the senator. Well turn now to kron fours also the money and she has more on todays service. So just so many personal stories were shared with the public today from Vice PresidentKamala Harris to feinsteins own granddaughter, as you mentioned. So, harris, of course, has long called the bay area her home where she served as a District Attorney and first met feinstein. The Vice President called the late force a student of history and a passionate leader who made sacrifices that allowed her to serve as a Public Servant mentioning that feinstein had the courage to take on tough fights, even in opposition and political peril, especially when her work was in defense of the constitution. Harris believes that feinsteins foundation working right here at San Francisco city hall had a lot to do with that calling San Francisco politics, a bare knuckled sport. Theyre requires elected officials to engage in complex discussions with informed residents who will raise issues no matter if im elected. Officials caught walking the for city or attending an event. And well continue our Team Coverage right now with kron 4 Charles Clifford. He was there outside of San Francisco city hall for the memorial. He joins us now live with the very latest there. Just wanted to get your thoughts on the very hot service that happened today. Yeah, its its very hot out here today, but were actually was lovely cir list service. It started about one 20 or so went for a little less than an hour. Probably a good thing because it is so hot outside ever if everyone who spoke really spoke highly of Dianne Feinstein, you had mayor london breed up there talking about how as a teenager she had played the french horn in a band for diane. And then years later, she would work with while she was mayor and Dianne Feinstein was a senator. And then you also the Vice President was saying, reflecting on her and their time together. They served in the senate together for a couple years before Kamala Harris went on to become Vice President. And then really, i think for the most touching moment for me was when her granddaughter got up and spoke and didnt talk about politics at all and just talked the woman that she knew was a grandma on the fun that they had together playing, hide and seek. That used to get hair cuts from her grandmother that were uneven and that the every night she would sing. You are my sunshine to her when she went to bed. So that was really heartfelt. We also have the blue angels flying over to time during the entire a service. But thats okay because Dianne Feinstein was responsible for bringing them to San Francisco years ago back in the 80s. So everyone seemed to really appreciate that. Even though kind of noisy and interrupted the ceremony from time to time, they have finished here. Theres still a few lingering people. But for the most part, theyre starting to break down and clear out polk street here and get San Francisco city hall back to normal. So its a very latest here in San Francisco, Charles Clifford kron. 4 news. Yeah, it was so nice to hear from granddaughter because weve heard so much about. The senator as far as her life and politics and her service to the country that our state and the city of San Francisco. But we had really heard about her as a Family Member and the matriarch. So, yes, i agree that granddaughter. That a lovely job . Chuck, thank you so much. All right. Were taking a live look outside here at San Francisco city hall. There it is in the middle. And as chuck mentioned, and if youve stepped outside at all today, you know, it is very warm out there. Meteorologist kyla grogan here now with details. How hot are we getting out there today . Yeah. Kind of crazy. Hot in certain places. Right . Like its not as bad. If you look inland, believe it or not, thats usually where the heat is and there is heat there today. Santa rosa right now at 94 degrees. Concord 92. You can see 95 down in san jose, but San Francisco is at 88 degrees right now. 86 out of Half Moon Bay. The coast is just been heating up and you can see 90s there in san we are under this heat advisory. You can see that is extended now all the way down to moderate day and also some point south along the coast there heading towards the central coast. But here locally, it is a San Francisco it all along the peninsula. All of the bay shore communities down into the south bay and Santa Cruz Mountains and of course, a good portion of the east bay as well. Now its not just today that were going to have this heat with us. It is also tomorrow. So that is why the heat advisory is until 11 00pm. And frankly, even we get into saturday, well pull back a couple of degrees. We really dont get our meaningful cool down until we get into sunday. May be wondering if this is record setting heat and the answer is maybe depending on where youre looking. First of all, you look at this and think 1987, it was 102 degrees in San Francisco. Can you imagine . They obviously have a heat wave there because oakland was 96. You can see in santa rosa back in 1933. And you get the idea. But the one place that i think we very well could be beating a daily record Half Moon Bay because that records from 2013 and its 82 degrees. And weve already exceeded that. Lets official temperature for them. When we get into later in the afternoon. But the sunshine is out there. You can see the wind is very calm. You dont see the leaves rustling around much because i mentioned this isnt just today, but also tomorrow and part of saturday. Theyre going to stay very warm. Want to remind you to stay hydrated. Avoid those outdoor activities. You dont want to kind of get out there and start doing the really tough yard work. And a day like today or tomorrow, find shade check on any people that could be at risk and make sure, of course that youre finding a cool place for your pets as well.
