The blue angels that everyones favorite right scheduled to start about 3. 15, and will bring you that as soon as it starts. That waterfront event is taking place between the Golden Gate Bridge alcatraz. But it can be seen from all over the city. Even parts of sausalito. We do have Team Coverage with all the different vantage points throughout San Francisco kron fours rob nesbitt is hanging out on marina green, talking to people about the airshow. Also, meteorologist kyla grogan live on our kron. 4 dec keeping track of all the weather conditions of people going out to sea. The air show will do it. Also, theres any fog in the forecast for the pilots kron. 4 Charles Clifford live for us at crissy field. Heres our team right there. Well start with charles charles. Whats it like out there . Well, its starting to get its a beautiful day. Just got a clear blue sky. Not a cloud into fog anywhere, but it is really starting to warm up here. The air show, as you mentioned, is underway right now. But lets start with the parade of ships. Its going to take a look at some video here now that began about 11 oclock this morning with the San Francisco fire boat coming in first underneath the Golden Gate Bridge that was followed by a several naval ships, including the uss john p murtha. And then the air show started a little after 1 oclock. And again with the navys parachute team coming down, bringing down flags, theyre in landing. And then we had a flyover by a united jet. That was kind of fun. And then we had a coast guard demonstration with golf and helicopters coming in showing some search and rescue stuff that they do. Now. I also talked to some folks are out here on crissy field today, including one boy who is really looking forward to the blue angels. Seen them go theres take for like to go above the bridge and then to go below the bridge. And then they do like this weird like diamond thing. And then they they shoot their clouds and they make like shows and drawings with clouds. Yeah, hes having a good time now. The air show is going to continue here throughout the afternoon. As justin mentioned, the blue angels, the highlight of fleet week show here in San Francisco. They start about 3. 15, or so. Where you are right now just seen him at the marina green. Im surrounded by all the vendors here. Its basically a onestop shop in terms of fleet air show is going on parade of ships behind me in the water and all these vendors. Like i said, more than 100. Weve got the army over here. Weve got people at the navy won the coast guard. You can see theres this robot that theyre also showing off the technology of the military. And then if youre interested to see how the u. S. May be diving goes well, youve got basically a tank or you can go up to knock on the it interact with somebody who is showing basically a virtual dive there and the parade of ships, as i said, started things off today around 11 00am to giant navy ships going by in the bay just about a couple hours ago, large crowds gathered to see for themselves and even more starting to arrive for the air show. Thats going to be happening. Easy to say that the blue angels flyover at 03 00pm, its most anticipated event today. Its about to get very loud here in about an hour. The military as representative course, but theyre also commercial vendors here at the marina green around 100 vendors total. As i said earlier, i talked with lieutenant nick lippert from the u. S. Navy about what goes into planning this iconic event. He says its not easy and has several moving parts at local, state and federal level, but its all about making a great experience for the public. United States Department of defense rights of the people by the people and for the people. So its really important for us to maintain that connection with the average joe across the nations. Thats why even though theres not a huge Permanent Military presence here in San Francisco, we love that events like this to connect with the people. Its great to see the military. As much as there is all the services get together here and its like a big family. Its great. People are always nice. Its its a good lieutenant lippert says that there were concerns about this event not being able to happen because of a looming Government Shutdown. Hes glad that was avoided. And of course, week is happening now. He said that the marina green is going to be open each day this weekend from 10 00am to 05 00pm justine. So we need to talk about the forecast as we take this live look outside. Theres the Golden Gate Bridge. You can see whats going on. A heat advisory has now been extended until tomorrow night. Kron fours meteorologist kyla grogan outside on our weather deck with detail. So youre actually in the heat today. I use when you want feel out there. I can tell you incredibly warm there. Some spots in the city of already hit 90 degrees, everybody. So we are warm. First thing i want to say if youre headed out to see this today, pack your sunscreen, take the water and be ready for the heat. This is an iconic moment for San Francisco. I think i speak for every meteorologist in town. What i say, we want to deliver great weather for them to fly and theyve got it for you today and tomorrow for sure. With these cloudless skies, really light wind. Only caveat is very warm temperatures. So just be ready for it. As i mentioned, if youre headed out because some of these temperatures are soaring right now in and you mentioned, a few spots in the city. Alright, in the 80s. But if you have just hit the 90 degree mark to we are still under that heat advisory. As justin mentioned, it has been extended till saturday. Now at 11 00pm. So expect tomorrow to be a whole lot like today, which is to say really warm right now in San Francisco showing 89 degrees. You can see 81 out of Half Moon Bay where they set a record yesterday by hitting 90. Were and saratoga right now coming in at a very warm 95. There is the wind. It is not bad. Were 5 to 10 miles per hour. Thats great. Flying weather for our blue angels. These are the records to be today. We have to get up to 94 in San Francisco. I sure hope we dont to be record from 1992. We could come close to done Half Moon Bay. Like i said, they broke a record yesterday today. They would have to hit that 87 degree mark to do it again. But as we look forward to the next couple of days today, tomorrow, spectacular flying weather, i think well see all kinds of great stuff from the blue angels on sunday. Were going to start to cool down is our weather pattern. Start to change starts to change. We could see a few clouds in the sky on sunday starting or those jets overhead right now as were Getting Started pretty soon out here. Its an exciting moment. Right now, there has been another release of petroleum coke, dust from the martinez refinery. This is video from the last time that coke dust was released. This was from july, according to the Contra Costa County health department. Todays release was, quote, an isolated incident in order to just some maintenance at the facilities. So far, Officials Say that theres no evidence that any koch dust has landed in the surrounding neighborhoods. But the investigation is ongoing. San ramon police say an incident involving homecoming parade floats that were vandalized at California High School with racist graffiti is not being investigated as a hate crime. But as kron fours Philippe Djegal reports, the case has left students and parents shaken up. Just hours before the event, the n word swastikas and profanity were spray painted on california. High schools homecoming parade floats in san ramon last friday. Incident detailed in the campuses student newspaper, the california were jewish and very disturbing and its something that consistently happens. And in our whole district, the San Ramon Police department is investigating the case. A spokesperson says that this time it is unfounded as a hate crime. It is considered a misdemeanor vandalism with no leads on suspects. I live 2 blocks away. And when i hear horrible things, hes racist things. Its appalling. We should be way better than this. In a Statement Released by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District principal demetrius ball says, quote. Our School Community is saddened by this incident to our students. Homecoming floats last friday. We are thankful for the parents and students who stepped up to repair the floats in order to allow the 50th anniversary homecoming parade to proceed as planned. Im sick in and i. Feel terrible and they hope to they figure out who did it in response to the graffiti, the Jewish Community Relations Council bay area says in a statement, quote. This was a deplorable act of vandalism, such hateful antisemitic incidents have become all too common across the bay area in the last few years. We must all stand united against hate violence and extremism to keep our communities safe and welcoming for people of all identities and backgrounds. My daughter. San ramon police are also investigating a raciallycharged flyer that circulated through campus targeting the principal. Which police say was determined to not be a crime. Adding, though, that the students involved have been identified and are being disciplined by the school. Police are also investigating an assault of a special needs student on campus in san ramon, Philippe Djegal, all kron. 4 news. In the south bay Police Morgan hill are looking for the suspects who broke into a Community Pumpkin patch and thousands of dollars worth of damage happened on tuesday night. Its been a farms thats near the coyote creek golf course. The owners say the suspect stole a tractor and even threatened the security guard. There. No suspects have been identified yet and they do say this is an ongoing investigation. There is some new housing thats coming to san joses vta board of directors approved a 5 year ground Lease Agreement with the city for about 7 acres of land at the vta. So roni bus yard for months. City officials have been trying to build 200 transitional units on that site. The state recently awarded the city funding for this project. The vta had previously offered alternative sites citing safety concerns. But the boards vote was unanimous on kron. 4 news at noon today we spoke with san jose mayor matt mahan about the boards decision to approve this development. Sites not only work for the people who are served at the site, but they actually make the neighborhoods better off. We have consistently seen a reduction in crime and blight when weve built one of these sites. So really its a winwin. I think thats what we have to convince our fellow californians of his building, basic dignified shelter in getting people indoors is a winwin for everybody. This will be the first Homeless Housing project in north san jose. Officials say it could be ready soon as 8 months. Coming up here at 2, it is day 3 of the kaiser strike. Just how close the workers and the Health Care Provider are to getting a deal done. And it is the first big day of fleet week right now. Going right past the bay bridge. Alcatraz underneath the be a great day to be on a boat and just look up and all over. Planes will be flying above. You. It is hot out there, though. And we have meteorologist kyla grogan bacon outside for us so we can find out about the forecast how you doing and that all that sun today. Well, you know, im always complaining about being cold. So im pretty happy when its hot. I have to admit it. Some people like it. Some people doubt. I kind of like the heat of but it is awfully fun to be out here today just to kind of share and all the celebration. Of whats happening with fleet week. All the demonstrations that are going on. Lets talk about this weekend. We talked about todays forecast, but i know a lot of you might be coming out for saturday and sunday. So tomorrow is going to be very similar to today. Were going to those upper 80s, even potentially 90 degree mark. But by the time we hit sunday, could see a few clouds out there. I dont think well be much about 70 degrees for a high, but that would put a little bit of a damper on some of the maneuvers they might be able to make. So keep an eye on that. Lets talk about temperatures right now are gorgeous. Blue skies. Wow. San francisco, 91. So thats one of the gauges. Now, the city that just hit 91 oakland, 87 93 in san jose. 94 livermore checkout Half Moon Bay were one degree away from beating another record there today. Incredible. Its all about the High Pressure. Thats whats keeping us nice and hot and giving us those perfectly blue skies for our blue angels to fly in this afternoon. But by the time we get to sunday, well start to see a change in the pattern. And by monday, were going to be looking out, believe it or not, for a few showers. Yes, you heard me correctly. This is monday into tuesday and you can see you know, quarter of an inch, maybe plus in certain spots were like a 10th to a quarter, though, for most of this is your saturday. You can see looks good by sunday. Were going to build some of that marine layer back in just a touch. Well see how we do in the earlier part of the day. But really by monday, thats when were going to see this front start to track in. And that is also, of course, going to be cooling us down. Hey, we can use the rain as we take a live look out there. Those beautiful blue skies there. Lovely. But all of this heat has been drying us out. Not just us, but check out southern california. Also under that heat advisory right through Central California and right up to the bay area where were going to be under this heat advisory until saturday evening. So if you are personally sensitive to the heat, just understand that its today. Tomorrow before we get some meaningful cooling on sunday and then we really go back into the 70s and a whole new kind of october vibe. When we get into monday, were looking out for those showers. All right. You know, sometimes broadcasters get the incredible chance to fly with some of the blue angels. And i want to bring in our own stephanie lives to stephanie come out and enjoy i kind of cant believe that one of us were blue. I thought everybody would wear blue say that overall cup in red to try to be different. But as as usual, you and i are in the same page, we are matching. So happy to be a you there today and for just a it is hot out here. You do in the forecast. So, ok, had the really cool opportunity to fly in a very unique plane. Yes, im in. It is the fat albert planes. So maybe first tell people what the or plane is and that its kind of part of the blue angels as part of the blue angels. Its actually their one of their biggest planes. Its i can carry up to 175,000 pounds is so it carry a lot of way 132 foot wingspan. So it allowed play it and it got its nickname said all. But of course, because its a little bit around or inside bigger what most people think of the blue angels think of those fast its right. But, you know, fat albert is actually more plays a key role in the whole production actually starts the whole show. They do a buzz. A flyover cool. All and all marine crew. So when we think of the blue angels usually associate with the navy, right. So this isnt all marine crew. So what did it feel like when youre flying over San Francisco and knowing like all of these .
