Thanks a lot. And at 10 oclock, our top story is a man who is in jail. After fighting with a Police Officer who was protecting the mayor of san jose. How this all happened in the middle of a kron, 4 interview with the mayor and weve got dan kerman now. Telling a little bit more about the man who was arrested. Its this attack thats led to the arrest of 35 yearold leslie pollard, san jose. Police say pollard has been booked for battering a Police Officer and resisting arrest with violence. The incident was caught by kron 4 cameras during a tuesday evening interview with san jose mayor matt mahan at first in san fernando as steps right next to the mayor. Both he and the plainclothes san jose Police Officer providing security for the mayor inform pollard. But an interview is under way do it. Were moving talking for mark. Pollard uses profanity and tells the officer to mind his own business. What happens next is off camera. Its unclear who touches to first. But pollard is heard saying all smack you right right now 9 seconds later, he does just that hitting the officer in the face and head at least twice at that point. A scuffle in season. Police are called witnesses say at some point pollard begins yanking on the officers tie after 2 more minutes and police nowhere in sight. A customer from a nearby business comes to the offices. Rescue removing pollards hands from the officers tie and allowing the officer to handcuff him. Police eventually arrived and took pollard into custody. One person who witnessed the confrontation but didnt want to go on camera says hes not even sure that the suspect knew the mayor was even involved in all of this and was definitely clear that the person did not know that the security person protecting the mayor was actually a san jose Police Officer. While kron 4 has posted edited version of the video online sent as a police point out in a statement, the video does not contain the entire incident in particular. It does not include the officer identifying himself, nor does it include the many attempts teammate to deescalate the situation and avoid using force or taking any enforcement action. Police confirm pollard has an outstanding arrest warrant out of georgia for resisting arrest with violence. The officer hospitalized overnight with head and neck pain. But its now been released. The case is now under review by the Santa Clara County district Attorneys Office. Dan kerman kron. 4 news. Happening today, classes will resume at San Jose City college after police canceled them yesterday to investigate a bomb threat. The threat came in shortly after 5 oclock last night. This is Video Showing Police blocking moore park avenue at bascom. They did that while they searched the campus, took about 3 hours to do that work. And in the end, investigators say they found nothing suspicious. The Sonoma CountySheriffs Office is asking the public to share any information that you might have about the victim of a cold case dating back to the 80s is a picture of Jeffrey Thomas group and his skull was found in 2001 and turned into the Sheriffs Office in santa rosa 2001, it was categories categorized as a homicide as they had this call that it took investigators more than 20 years to identify whose skull it was and they figured out it was reopened. So this is because public safety, healthcare risk and honestly. I would hate to get to the point where were losing a lawsuit. One life sanchez says she became frustrated after 78 protesters arrested for blocking the bay bridge in november. Were only ordered to 5 hours of Community Service and 57 fines under current state law. Protesters can be fined anywhere between 100 to 500. Sanchez wants to double those fines up to 1000 depending on past convictions because we see that these laws on the books are are not enough right there tie the chart. Whats happening now .
