A gunman is dead. The fire started just after 7 00 last night at a condo complex called the montage. Witnesses say that they heard at least 20 minutes of gun shots from the building but nobody was hit. Reno police say that the unidentified man died after a swat team went to the 8th floor of the condo building. We dont know if the man was killed by police gun fire or his own. The man was holding a woman hostage and was firing down to the street below. Neither the hostage or anyone else was hurt. He started shooting out the east facing windows of the montage and he was shooting down onto sierra street. He could have shot in other places but we have officers who did notice the gun fire coming down onto sierra street. The luxury highrise is surrounded by popular casinos and the gun fire was a reminder of the Las Vegas Shooting that killed 58 people. During last nights shooting reno streets were mostly empty though since it whats a cold week night. New this morning documents show that the las vegas gunman owned a condo at the montage in reno. Records show he sold it in december of last year. It may just be a condense as of right now there are no reports of direct connections between the gunman in reno and las vegas. Police in Tampa Florida arrested a man suspected of a killing spree. The 24yearold Howell Donaldson the third was arrested last night. He is blamed for four deadly shootings in the Seminole Heights neighborhood of tampa since october. Is he charged with four counts of first degree murder. Tampa police were tipped off at a local mcdonalds that an employee had a gun. That led to donaldsons arrest. Last night the mayor of tampa said this its been 51 days and its time for Seminole Heights to have a good nights rest. The investigation continues. Back here, San Jose Police arrested a suspect accused of shooting at security cameras on the campus of an Elementary School early yesterday morning. Investigators say a man with a shot gun walked objected to the campus of book son elementary before 4 00 a. M. They say that he fired shots at two surveillance cameras but nobody was hurt. The second time this month that someone has fired shots at security cameras at that school but not during the school day. There is no information about this suspect and classes will be held today. The Alameda County sheriff is reporting an inmate at the jail was found dead in his cell yesterday morning. Authorities were conducting an inmate count at 3 00 in the morning when they found the man. The Sheriffs Office said it appears he took his own life many he isnt being identified until his family is told. The santa cruz teenager Adrian Gonzalez accused of killing an 8yearold two years ago decided not to enter a plea during his first day in court where is he being tried. He was 15 when he was arrested for killing Madison Middleton in santa cruz. Since then lawyers have been disputing if he should be tried in Juvenile Court or adult court. Jurors in the trial of the man charged with killing a woman on the pier will be back. Today will be their 5th day. After weeks of discussion and debate San Francisco now has rules for how businesses that sell marijuana will operate in the city. That includes how close they can be to a school. The rules require marijuana businesses to provide at least half their work hours to employees who live here in San Francisco. The measure was passed by a vote of 101.
