Judge persky drew outrage after sentencing brock turner to six months in jail for the Sexual Assault of an unconscious intoxicated woman. Many people thought that sentence was far too lenient. Turner wound up spending three months behind bars. The case drew widespread attention and it was heightened with a woman that he attacked released an emotional statement. Community activist claimed judge persky and gather more than 94,000 signatures to get the recall on the ballot. We spoke with one of the leaders on that effort. Judge persky made a decision and utilized his discretion. He made an individualized sentence and did not give Mister Turner that twoyear senate that he was supposed to receive as a minimum. That is simply an exercise on judge perskys part of ending over backwards to save Mister Turner from the consequences that the law intended to have.
