To focus on whats happening near the bay area, there are at least 367 confirmed cases of covid19. Santa clara county had more than double the number we see in any other county. Santa clara county has 155 cases and 5 death. San mateo county second followed by San Francisco and contra costa and alameda counties. 7 03. And once again, the order says stay at home as much as possible. We expect to see empty streets and neighborhoods again in areas that are normally busy. Only those stores and operations that provide what are considered essential services will be open, like hospitals, Grocery Stores, banks, gas stations and post offices. Now, Sonoma County is requiring people who live there to stay home. And this comes as the county confirms they are seeing more cases of covid19. Reporter it is quiet, although we are at the mall in santa rosa where one of the types of businesses that is allowed to remain open, a Grocery Store, is open with workers inside. It looks like the shelves are stocked. This order went into effect at midnight this morning in Sonoma County for three weeks. What it means is only essential businesses are allowed to be open. That includes Grocery Stores like we showed you, pharmacies, restaurants can remain open only for takeout and delivery, Hardware Stores, gas stations and banks remaining open e it means that only people working in what are considered to be essential businesses are allowed to leave their homes to go to work, including healthcare workers, police and firefighters, delivery drivers, journalists, taxi, uber and lyft drivers. Sonoma is the 7th bay area county to enact a stayathome order like this because of fears and an attempt to stop the spread or slow down the spread of coronavirus. Health officials made the decision yesterday after the county said there were six confirmed cases of people infected here in covid19 two new cases this weekend. The only bay area counties that dont have a shelterinplace order in effect right now are napa and solano counties,  although napa Health Official have said they are strongly considering a move like this. The six inmates are on house arrest with an ankle monitor. The coronavirus is changing how many Bay Area Police departments do business. And all nonessential interviews and appointments are canceled. At the Emeryville Police department, they started a very unique work schedule tailored to this pandemic. Half of the Police Department will spend two weeks working 12 hours on, 12 hours off. Then the other half will work for the next 14 days. Thats the incubation period for this virus.
