Tabling of the Reform of Bill 101 in Quebec – May 13, 2021 The Legault government presented today its long-awaited reform of Bill 101. According to several political observers, this is an ambitious reform which provides, among other things, the creation of a French language ministry and which extends the application of Bill 101 to businesses with 25 to 49 employees, as well as to businesses under federal jurisdiction. The government also intends to include in the Constitution Act of 1867 – the Canadian Constitution – the recognition of the nation as well as of French as the only official and common language of Quebec.
