Laurel County Traffic Stop Leads To Foot Pursuit And Arrest

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Allen Turner pulled over a vehicle for speeding off Highway 312. The driver, 37-year-old Kenneth Wayne Rose of Corbin, gave police false information. During a search police found meth in his possession before he attempted to escape on foot. Rose ran nearly half a mile on foot before deputies arrested him following a brief scuffle. Rose was arrested charged with possession of meth, evading police on foot and resisting arrest. He was also wanted on an indictment warrant on a first-degree rape charge. Rose was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
