Apr 12, 2021 3:31 PM
A Christian County Grand Jury will hear the murder case against a woman accused of fatally shooting Anthony Johnson April 3 on College Street.
Hopkinsville Police Detective Randall Greene testified that the first arriving officers found 25-year old Kachelle Isbell of Hopkinsville kneeling over Johnson’s body with a gun on her person when they arrived and that she allegedly admitted to shooting him.
Isbell told police she and Johnson had been talking around a fire pit in front of 1504 College Street and the conversation became heated when Johnson expressed he’d be letting a woman who has cancer reside in his home. Isbell claims Johnson kept approaching her and made physical contact with her before she shot him.

Booker announces exploratory committee for 2022 U.S. Senate race

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio
Apr 12, 2021 7:02 AM
Charles Booker, the Louisville Democrat who nearly won the nomination to face Mitch McConnell last year, has announced he’s forming an exploratory committee for a potential 2022 run for the nomination to face U.S. Senator Rand Paul.
He made the announcement in a two-and-a-half-minute video on Twitter Monday morning.
Booker lost the primary last year to Amy McGrath and was likely hurt by record absentee voting due to the pandemic that had many Democrats sending in their ballots before he gained momentum.
He formerly represented a portion of Jefferson County in the state House.
