The Gila County Community Action Program team is promoting a free online mental health first aid training course. Organizers say Americans are struggling with high levels of emotional distress from the COVID-19 pandemic and communities need first aiders who are equipped to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and addiction issues, as well as care for ourselves. Become a certified first aider for those struggling with challenges related to COVID-19 â even during times of physical distancing. This training is a new blended/virtual training that requires 8 hours to complete. It is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23 and offered free online, but registration is required as enrollment is limited.
