Roger Steele, of Kapiti, loves the Hemo sculpture. Does he own property and pay rates in Rotorua?
Or as a taxpayer did he chip in on the $200,000 Land Transport contribution?
As a local
who has been forced to pay twice (rates and taxes), of the half I can see above road level, I say it's an underwhelming, inappropriate way to spend public money.

Lights could be turned off to save money
Have you seen the light? If someone "sees the light", they finally realise something or change their attitude or way of behaving, to a better one. Now that Te Putake o Tawa on Tarawera Road has "seen the light of day" (coming into existence), we're now seeing lights on at different times of day.
