Lea Taylor Lea Taylor was Mayor from 1991 to 1997 in Rockhampton city; he left the mayoral position to work on his property. I met Lea Taylor in 2012 when he wanted to run for mayor and try and get a team of councillors elected with him, to ensure debt levels were reduced and that our region could have a strong future. “Experience you can rely on”, was the slogan and I joined the Regional Independent team. There is one thing that I will never forget about Lea, is the fact that he had a strong work ethic. There were many long hours put into running campaigns and I remember at times, helping him produce videos up to 2am.
