The light at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic tunnel so many have been eagerly awaiting shone in Macomb County on Thursday.
Kush Patel of Sterling Heights was the first frontline health care worker in Macomb County to receive Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren.

Ascension and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital were the first two medical facilities in the county to debut their vaccine distribution plans. McLaren Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens is scheduled to launch its preventive effort on Friday.
It was a historic and emotional moment to say the least.
