ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Freshman Myah McDonald and sophomore Lauren Lehigh are tied for fifth through day one of the 2021 Mountain West Women’s Golf Championships on Tuesday as the Lobos sit tied for second place overall. The final round of the MW Championships is set to tee off on Wednesday at 8 a.m. MT while UNM tees off at 9:30. New Mexico is tied for second with a score of 593 (+17), 11 strokes behind first-place San Diego State (582, +6). The Lobos are tied with Fresno State while San José State and Nevada are tied for fourth, nine strokes behind with scores of 602 (+26). “We saw a lot of good things out there today, but we gave away too many shots the first round,” head coach Jill Trujillo said. “We’ll have to take it low tomorrow. Lauren and Myah had solid rounds and their consistent play helped keep us toward the top.”
