After about a year of meetings and discussions, a planned mixed-use development across from Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield took a major step forward Wednesday. Supervisors voted 4-1 in favor of the final land development plan for the Prickett Preserve at Edgewood development that will bring a Wegmans, 200 apartments, and several retail and dining spots to the 36-acre property on Stony Hill Road. Supervisor John Lewis voted against the plans over concerns the commercial aspect of the project would harm other retailers in the township, bring a “torrent” of similar projects and ultimately cost the township more than tax revenue generated.
