A face peeked above the counter of the check-in desk at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Priyasha Kota, a senior Olentangy Liberty High School at the time was job shadowing an oncologist at the hospital, remembers staring back at that youthful set of eyes. It was a boy, 4 years old, Kota said. And he was battling cancer. Kota was heartbroken. She said she realized that day what career path she wanted to pursue: pediatric oncology. She now is a junior at Ohio State University majoring in neuroscience and plans to stay at OSU for medical school. "It was a moment of realization," Kota said, who then decided she wanted to find a way to make a difference in the lives of children battling terminal illness and cancer.
